Have TRD catback, want something else

I have the TRD Catback for my 2010 offroad access cab. I don't know much about exhaust, but I would like dual exhaust where the tips stick out the back instead of the sides. I would like something that sounds more mean and a bit louder, but not too loud. Any help would be appreciated. Also, if anyone is looking to buy the TRD catback, I could possibly make that happen.

 

IIRC flowmaster has a split dual system like you're looking for and you'll get a louder exhaust with them too. Also you might check MBRP. I think they have one as well.

 

Yeah the flowmaster american thunder kit sounds good I think. Not extremely loud. Comes with the 50 series delta flow muffler. Look up some exhaust videos on youtube and you can get the muffler you want and get a shop to run the dual exhaust however you want it.

MBRP has the dual outlets but they go out the sides behind the wheels. Would straight outlets under the bumper (is this what you're talking about OP?) work with the position of the spare?

 

Yes, the straight outlets out the back is what I'm looking for. I don't keep the spare there anymore, becaue I have 33" tires now. So I'm also looking for a way to store my fulsize spare at the moment. And as for the details on the TRD catback, I'm not 100% sure I'm going to get rid of it. I still need to find the exhaust I want and I wouldn't be able to make a sale or ship until February-March time frame because I am in Afghanistan right now and won't be home until that time.

 

Well either way just make sure you get home safe.

 

IIRC the only dual setups for the Tacoma exit behind the rear wheels. To exit below the rear bumper would have to be done by a muffler shop.

 

If you ever want to take your truck off-road you're going to regret having pipes that come out the back. Just keep that in mind. The angles you will drive will most certainly hit your pipes.
