Did I break something? Help!

I was wheeling the other day, and at one point while going down a slight incline, my wheels were turned to the right, and I heard a pop/snap. It sounded like it was from the front right wheel. We looked, but could not see anything broken or damaged (I am not 100% sure what I'm looking at/for though). It was shortly after this picture, and my wheels were just like you see in the picture... After, I could not turn my steering wheel, even though there appeared to be nothing binding the wheels... I backed up a little and then could turn the wheels... I don't know if it is related, but on the way home there was a vibration/rumble (maybe a grinding sound?) from under the truck. I'm not sure where it is coming from. My best guess is maybe the transfer case, but I never hit it or anything. Any help would be appreciated. I plan on taking it to the dealer later this week when I get off work. The vibration/rumble is only noticeable while lightly accelerating, and stops immediately if I take my foot off the gas. Thanks!

One of the front axle cv joints may have dislocated itsself if it was over extented too much.

 

Everything works okay now, except for the vibration/rumble. Is there something I need to do to check that, or would it have corrected itself?

Could that be where the vibration/rumble is coming from? It is hard to tell exactly where it is coming from while driving.

 

That could be where the rumble is coming from.I think I would check it out soon in case something is out of place and causes the steering to lock up at a bad time.Get the front wheels off the ground and turn wheels all the way left or right and rotate the tire and see if it is binding any.I have seen front axle u-joints freeze up on the older trucks and cause the steering to bind.

I took the truck to the dealer today to have them check it out, but before I took it in, I removed my custom skid plate I have over the transfer case... When I was taking it off, I noticed it's support bar was bent up just a little, causing it to be within about 1/8" from the exhaust pipe... Apparently the exhaust pipe had just enough play in it that while I was accelerating it would rattle against the support. It doesn't make that "rumble" sound anymore, now that the skid plate is removed!

Also, the dealer checked out my front end and could not find anything wrong except they think the "pop" may have been a loose lug nut slipping into one of the holes in my 1/4" spacer I have on the front wheels. they said the lugs were loose, and it looks like that is what happened. All the CV Joints and tie rods, and control arms are okay!

In the end, All I needed was an alignment! Much less than expected! thanks for the help!
