Alternative to 3000k hid for fog lights

    Hi TW, I had a question. I really like the look of having yellow fog lights in addition to hid headlights but i don't care to spend money on two separate hid kits as most of the decent ones are around 100 bucks minimum. Are there any cheaper alternatives to getting the yellow color without having to buy a 3000k hid kit? films? cheaper, tinted halogen bulbs? etc. Thanks in advance!

    i have these. make sure yo dont get the 55watt ones (too much for stock wiring), they have them in 55w and i think 42w or 45w. they are very yellow, easy to change over and very bright, the bulbs are barely yellow themselves so the housings look stock, i did not want yellow lenses. just yellow light, and as far as a plug and play HID kit in your fogs, DO NOT DO IT, too blinding and as far as "fog light" usage, it will give the opposite effect with all the light scatter.

    A few mods here and there and counting....
    Agreed! I'm running the same setup. They cover the lower ground perfectly, no warm up times, doesn't blind on coming drivers, and looks stock when off. Never been a fan of lamin x yellow tint, makes the truck look cheesy.

    I've run both the Nokya and Putco yellow halogen bulbs and have been happy with the light output of both. Other options are as listed above, Lamin-X film or get some Krylon glass tint and go to town on the stock lens.

    FWIW, so will yellow tinted bulbs since they're not actually emitting yellow light. Lamin-X and the yellow tint on the bulbs are just that, a tint.

    Those are the correct Nokya bulbs. They're nice and bright, you'll like them! :thumbsup:

    I have the HID and very bright but had the Nokya bulbs before and I was happy with them. Got a good deal on HID kits when I bought my headlight kit so figured why not? Even 2500k very bright but not as yellow as my Nokya in my opinion.
