Avery is the biggest DB in the league everyone knows it. The Stars threw him under the bus cuz of it. Get lost.

 

Remember the league suspending him for the "sloppy seconds" comment? I think this video is why. Bettman got the last laugh and told him to kick rocks (3:40 mark of the video)

I shot two games when he played in hartford after being reclaimed by the NYR. Off the ice he was approachable and would chat with anyone. I think he's on borrowed time in the league. Once his current contract is up at the end of this year (UFA) I'm not sure Slats will renew him - and nobody else will take him. 28 teams (30 minus Dallas and NYR) didnt claim him on re-entry waivers recently.

 

I just don't know what he brings to a team, hes not really a scrapper, cant fight well, his skills can be replaced by anyone. Some people compare him to Matt Cooke, Im not a fan of his either but he can play the game and is a solid 3rd line winger.

 

Aside from the dirty crap Cooke has been involved in over the past few seasons, I'll agree he's a solid 3rd liner. And as a Bruins fan, that's tough to say.

 

As a Pens fan it's tough to say, I wish we could let him go but he brings a good value for his cap hit.

BTW just heard the Caps fired coach BB. It's about time, that team seems lost. Semin is next to go.

That took waaaaaay too long. Just read they're bringing in Kirk Muller from the Pred's AHL affiliate. Kinda wanted them to bring up Jeff Daniels from the Checkers but going outside the organization may be the right move.
