Yup, derp'd the outside, rustoleumed the inside of the rim (want to be able to return them to stock and sell 'em when i can afford the rims i want.)

i also wire-wheeled a bunch of rust flake crap off the drums/axle/etc. and painted 'em all. with "Rust Tough" paint/primer.

I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out. Also, there's about 400#'s of tools and crud in the back, plus the topper wait on a wheelers 5-pack... I'll probably be getting an AAL this spring to allow for more weight/mild height increase.

What type of paint? That looks like a nice inexpensive mod that the 15 year old can do!

my dad litereally found the lil speaker..and put a screw through it..seemed to do the trick. Or you could just cut power to the speaker and tape it off.

On a side note, check out this sweet old Toyota i saw today!

If you disconnect the wires under the seat that go to the "seat occupancy sensor" (don't know the real name) you'll be GTG

Matthew, PM'd you back - Plasti-dip/sprayed them. (AKA, Plasti-Derp/Derp'd/Derp-a-derp/Plasti'd/removable paint) about $6 a can around here. I gave 'em a good cleaning and went through 2 cans for just the fronts and caps of the rims, black enamel painted the insides. Make sure you paint the caliper/drums and wheel wells too (With real spray paint, not Plasti.)

And also - yeah, these stock rims look 1000 times better painted black...

Edit - that 80's Yota is sweet!

Hey, I've got a 2001 silver double cab off road and I was thinking about somehow putting black rims on. I was wondering, i've never used Plasti-Dip, so do you guys think that it will hold up? I live in Dallas, Texas and I don't know of the heat will affect it. I also go off Roading occasionally, if that would affect them.

Finished up my homemade mesh grill (because I don't want to buy a $150 grill that costs <$20 to make)
