2001 Tacoma Window Tint

Hey guys, what's a good, quality, cheap way to tint your windows? My truck came from Illinois to Dallas, Texas so the non-tinted windows let the Texas sun cook me for dinner!

 

Go to a shop and have them tinted or do it yourself obviously. Shops about 100-200 depending on what kind of tint and the shop, or doing it yourself is about 40-60 bucks depending on brand.

I, personally, wouldn't do it myself to save $40. $60 to do both front windows at a local tint shop

 

Have a shop do it. It will turn out much better than you doing it. If you've never tinted windows before, chances are they'll turn out like this.

 

x2. Save yourself the headache and just have a reputable shop do it, IMO.

 

If you don't have experience with tint, don't try installing yourself. One little mistake and you've wasted $$. If you have the proper tools, and the patience, do it yourself.

And for the extra cheap hit up Autozone or Advanced for tint.

 

Having it done professionally is good advice! I also recommend getting a good quality "metalized" film to prevent fading (i.e., purple tint).

Shop around... I've had all of my vehicles and my house done by a local shop that offers a lifetime warranty against cracking, peeling, bubbling, delamination, etc. Well worth the extra cost, IMO.

Had my 2 fronts and the top 6" of the windshield done for $80 with warranty against peeling bubbling cracking etc.

Well worth it!!
