I have been searching online for hours and came up with nothing... I figured I would toss this out here to see anyone had any suggestions...

My mother in-law was using my computer yesterday (Windows 7), after she got done, the first thing I noticed was that the web pages looked funny. Narrow and Tall. Missing information that usually displays. I have a feeling she entered some key-stroke to making this happen.

I tried the Control +, Control - and Control 0. This didn't correct the issue.

I tried 4 different web browsers (Chrome, Safari, IE and Firefox) all with the same result.

I tried adjusting the resolution on the computer, that didn't do it either.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Is it just the web browsers or does the desktop look the same too?

It is just websites. Everything else looks normal.

It is not every site, it seems that it is mainly sites "Home Page".. If I compare with another computer, they show more of the site than I am able to see. I am having a difficult time finding anything online as to what causes this problem.

I tried adjusting the text size, but that makes it look very strange.

The thing that is strange is that this issue spans over so many different browsers. I actually uninstalled Chrome and re-installed it to see if that would help, it didn't.

Can you "drag" the borders to the edges of the screen ?

Have you tried shutting down and re-starting ?

I have the Window open entirely.

Also, I did try re-booting, that didn't change anything.

I am almost wondering if it is an issue with a certain plug-in? Maybe Java? Or another plug in that runs a large amount of websites? I am not sure... I am just striking out here.

The pages are still off even after the restore.

I may have to try that. Thanks for the suggestion.

Yes, I have tried 4 different web browsers, all with the same issue.

Hold the control key down, and roll your mouse wheel. This increases and decreases the font sizes in the browsers.

EDIT: NVM. CTL + and - doe the same.

If you press F11, that might fix your web page issue. Pressing F11 makes the webpage full view, i.e., lacking borders and web tools, so repress to undo.

    Edit: Wrong button.

Could it be some accessibility setting? In control panel.

If it is not browser-centric, I would have to look at plug-in like Flash or Java. Not sure if a system restore would restore those specific settings or not. Remove and re-install these possibly?

It could also be an accessibility setting, as wmdpowell stated above.

Can you post a screen shot of an affected page?

I just checked... I didn't see anything in there that may be causing it.

I is really strange. Some pages (this one I am typing this on) look the same. It seems to be just the "Main Page" of certain websites. Ex. Amazon, Newegg, Facebook, NFL Network, CNN all look funny on the main page, but when I click on a link or article, they look fine.

I think I will re-install those.. Are there any others besides Java and Flash?

I did, but that didn't change anything...

Refreshing leaves the page the same... It doesn't adjust.
