    I am new to Tacoma World. My husband has a 2011 Tacoma 4X4 and I want to surprise him for his birthday with a front bumper. I saw a link in the forum with different pictures, but which one is the best. What spec's should I look for and which brand do you guys like. Please help a girl out.:eek:

    "Best" means a lot of things.

    I'm assuming this is mainly for aesthetics? In that case, you may want to find out which one he prefers the looks of.

    If it's actually going to do work, might be better to look at features and construction as opposed to looks.

    What does he like to do with his truck? Is it a REAL off-road rig or part time and daily driver too? Is there a budget (you are wonderful - but thought it might factor in)? Someone mentioned a tube style bumper -- I recently ordered this one for my truck and although I don't have it yet -- think it will be perfect.

    Just a thought - others might be able to help with some more info....

    Best to me, means that the bumper is solid and can handle abuse, with providing enough clearance.

    Do you have a bumper on your truck and what do you like and dislike about it. I want to hear from real people who have them instead of hearing from a mfg on how great they think their product is.

    What do you love about it? I liked them too. When you say wait awhile. How long is awhile?
    Was it easy to install?
    Were the installation instructions good? My husband isn't all that handy. I love him though...:cool:

    ALL of the bumpers listed in that thread (with the exception of All-Pro and Body Armor) will handle abuse just fine.

    Generally speaking, the more low profile the bumper, the better the approach angles and clearance, but again all of these options are light years beyond the stock plastic.

    My personal bent is towards smaller fab shops, and the two I'd call out in particular are ArmorTech Offroad and Relentless Fabrications. Every single piece of armor on my truck is by ArmorTech, so that tells you what I think of their work. I've had plenty of experience with Relentless products on friends' rigs, and it is of equal quality - which is to say excellent.

    Personally, I also love the aesthetics of the products by those two fabs. But that's a more subjective thing.


    Depends on the shop, but wait times can be anywhere from 2 to 3 weeks to 6 months.

    Most are generally bolt-on, though some metal trimming may need to be done.

    We go off-roading on the weekends but he also commutes to work in it. Like anything the most bang for the buck is the best. What made you chose your bumper? I have been leaning towards a plate bumper.

    Relentless and All pro have very similar bumpers. I kind of liked all-pros design better. What do you think? I also liked shrockworks bumper.
