WHo wants to go to the metal supply store?

 

What you need? Which one do you go to?

 

I was gonna go to the one just south of broadway and 48th,

Im just gonna see what they have, See what sizes of sheet metal they would sell me. I want to make a battery box.

 

And mostly I just want a welding project/practice

 

Thats the one I go to. They pretty much have everything from thin guage to 1/4" plate in precut pieces in lots of sizes so you dont have to pay to have it cut

 

provided i pass background check/drug test (not worried about either) i can start work in two weeks for solar plant

 

Awesome... Which solar plant, what position? Thats a good industry to get into, especially down in AZ.

 

im technically a contractor through a third party firm. Originally i was told id be some sort of compute operator by a foreman working for the actual company, the third party told me just assembler though. its roughly 15.5 an hour so im not complaining, and a raise every month for staying provided good performance.

 

Awesome. Any chance to switch from a 3rd party to a full time employee in the future or is this just temp work??? Either way, good on ya, glad to hear it.

 

yes, they will want 85 full time posistions out of the 300 temps. im stoked.

 

Sweet, if you need help with some of the electronics, mechanical, or tech side of things hit me up on here. I can probably get you electronic versions of the US Navy's advanced eletronics training pubs and other stuff like that if your interested.

Ok, give me a couple days until I get back to Tucson and I will try to post them up.

 

I have a big piece of 8 gauge sheet metal laying around that I want to make skid plates out of. I don't have a welder or a way to cut it though. I'd gladly let you have some of it and help you make a battery box if you'd be interested in helping with the skid plates. Let me know if you're interested
