Ok BRIAN, I decided to go ahead and finish some more tree pinstripe removal on the passenger side of my truck. Since Brian said pictures or it didin't happen, here are some pictures.

After washing the truck, I sanded the bad spots. See below

    IMG_20111201_105401_71f5c32dadc36cceecd04c9b99c9ec4b3f480ba1.jpg
    IMG_20111201_105409_d2c018c6827c608fe31abc8788f0a54bea289f14.jpg

After sanding, I then used some turtle wax rubbing compound, here is the first pass.

    IMG_20111201_113901_63168e992f1e7b8f8a75d35f967b09daf39ba78f.jpg

    Second pass

    IMG_20111201_110520_abd03bcd2ae61e2779b208ecc2889dc1ec9963f5.jpg

Third pass, followed by polishing wax

    IMG_20111201_111528_4dcf921cf2e831e2e2a46c75966b1fa950b363eb.jpg

and the finished result. I know you can't tell now or maybe you don't remember, but there were some wicked scratches all down the passenger side of my truck. This is how it looks now

    IMG_20111201_113909_4c41289954c98c470341252f30047322a57113c8.jpg

Oh, and btw the paint and clear coat are ridiculously thin on the mirrors. This is what about 3 seconds of wet sanding with 2000 grit sandpaper did.

    IMG_20111201_105141_63800baccfc887f814714b628fd8ca2719bd0d57.jpg

The mirrors are just going to have to stay scratched.

Not bad pictures for a phone don't you think? (and yes, that is an nsx in the background)

    yes i do. thanks jo

funny thing is i plan on making the newest baby (the truck) a present for the other baby when he turns 16...... if all goes well. or at least that is what im hoping to do, pay it off then park it and put cash down for a new one in about 5 or 6 years and leaving this one in the driveway for another 10 years....... guess time will tell.

The hand-me-down car idea is what my family did. My sisters and I really appreciated it. Even the sister who got to drive this:
