No I don't sell Muth mirror and I don't know why my post keep poping up on the site. The first post didn't make it on so I re post, now it keep posting. I found that the kit that came from Muth was complete and simple to install which took me about 2 hours and I got what I wanted. I found that getting a kit and paying a little more really save you money and time in the long run. Looking for the parts and and running around for supplies cost me time and money. I just wanted to get the job done and have quality products, which Muth offers and stands behind. I wish I could sell their products because it would be a lot easier then busting my aas on boats.

Great thread folks. I'm a new Tacoma owner and this is my first mod. I'd like to use the OEM F9 plug for the switch. My local dealer can't seem to figure out the part number for the wire connectors. The previously posted info from the tech manual didn't help him...or me. Can some one please spell out the part number more explicitly for me. Apologies for being so thick on this.
    Thanks
    Joel

The plug is 90980-10789. Unfortunately, you need to buy the crimp terminals separately.
Interestingly- I found a diagram that claims the wire crimps for this connector are 82998-12340 (need 5). I will try to find out more-

The parts counter person at your dealer isn't working too hard or they're brain dead (don't tell them that, though!). My parts counter person didn't help me out at all, until I kept coming back a few times, actually bought stuff and showed her the results. Now we have conversations when I run into her around town. Ask them or just walk around to the service garage door and ask a tech if they know where the "wire terminal repair kit" is and you want to purchase a couple. I don't know the part numbers because thats how I go about getting them. Every dealer has one of these kits (looks like a tackle box with the terminals) with a bunch of each of some six or seven different size terminal connectors.
I'm also not sure what you will need a special crimper for as I've never seen just the "metal". Each one has a 4-6" splice of appropriate gauge wire already attached and you butt-splice or solder them to your harness.

Take you time and ask questions, preferably prior to utilization of a fire extinguisher! :D

If you don't draw blood, you're doing it wrong!
    Just found these....(http://www.bmotorsports.com/shop/product_info.php/cPath/109_110/products_id/1567)

This is a great solution if you want to use the OEM connector (90980-10789) for the Highlander switch, but don't want to pay $5/ea. for the female terminal terminal leads (82998-12340). Plus you don't have to worry about soldering another connection.

I think this is what I might do to make for an easier disconnect at the switch rather than using small spade connectors. I'm going to check my specialty electronics store in town to see if they have some. I'll keep you guys posted, and hopefully get an install guide posted when I do my mirrors next weekend.

Ben, are these the right ones to fit that connector? It says they are for the injector connector- but they might be the same type of terminal.

    BTW- nice find!

I believe they are the same specs as the ones from the repair kit. I won't know until I actually have them in hand. If they aren't, oh well it's only like $1.50.

LOL! Ya, I'll try to avoid the need for the fire extinguisher. So far so good. I've done everything except wire up the switch and tie it into the fuse box.
This thread is excellent. Lots of detail for guys like me.

The parts guy is pretty new so I think your suggestion is a good one. I'll
swing down and see him tomorrow.

Here's what I could find for specs on the OEM Terminal Repair Kit (Celica parts list, but still the same connector):

Dug up some more info. on the Sumitomo terminals here (http://swsct.sws.co.jp/components/en/terminal.asp?number_s=82404892ts)

And also 2 other forums confirming these should be the right ones to use.
    http://www.motec.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=374#p3401
    *see post 5

    http://www.fjcruiserforums.com/forums/stereo-electronics-electrical/119106-repair-splice-part-82998-12340-terminals-supplier.html

Sorry if I keep posting info. that is not immediately relevant, but it could save a lot of people money since these terminals are quite common for many Taco mods people do here (fog lights, LEDs, OBA). This way you don't have to keep buying the terminal repair wires.
