3" lift, 17" wheels, BFG 275/70/17 TA KO's

After doing much research and finding this forum most helpful, I wanted to write a thank you to all those that post pictures and constructive comments. This is my first post on this forum so bare with me while I try to post the evolution pictures of my Taco. Thanks!!!!

Which 3" lift did you install? Just front spacer?

 

A bit in the front with full wheel throw however, it cleaned up neatly.

 

I did the AAL in the rear with Rancho shocks and front spacers.

 

I was going to get this size tire with just 2.5" lift up front, but Im guessing it will rub quite a bit if your truck rubs with a 3" lift.. damn

 

Hey guys, I'm new to Tacomaworld.

I'm thinking of putting a mild lift and some new rubbers on my '09 TRD Sport, 4X4, Dbl Cab, short bed taco.

Looking at a set of 275/70/17 BFG T/A KOs and a levelling kit.

My question is: Will that tire fit on my stock Rim? I am really fond of the TRD Sport rims, I might have them powder coated black at some point and wanted to know before I nab these tires.

how do those ride being a load range E. That is kinda stiff for these light trucks. I just bought some Goodyear AT Extremes in 275/70/17 because they are a 6 ply side wall and felt they would ride smoother, I am more fond of BFGs however since they are about bullet proof and provide great traction.

 

My new rims are 17x8. I know the Sport ran 17" rims but I'm not sure about the width. Good Luck!

 

The ride is a bit stiffer. I attribute this to the entire package. However, I think most pickups these days ride more like cars and less like pickups. I put these tires along with air shocks on a Silverado with no other modifications and noticed very little change in the ride.

 

where were you rubbing, inside fender or body mount. i am planning on
running this size on my stock rims. from everything i have researched, there is no rubbing on the body mount. is that correct ? i was going to be
around 2.5 to 2.75" of lift.

 

The rubbing occurred on the forward front wheel well. There were some plastic pieces that sealed the front wheel well that needed to be removed.

 

I used a 1/4" on the front wheels. The width of the wheels is 8".

 

damn, I was planning on running BFG's 275/70/17 on my stock trd sport wheels with the 2.75 bilstein lift in the front but I dont want any rubbing and I dont feel like trimming. I thought I would be alright but this post is discouraging

 

i have a 2011 trd sport with the 17s.....so the toytec bilstein shocks/eibach springs lift wont be able to clear the 275 70r17 tires without rubbing/scrubbing on either wheelwell or uca's

 

He should be fine with a 2.75" lift, tires are around 32"...Just need a little more agrresive wheel back space and offset....4.5" -12mm....
