ARB foglight cutouts

if your bumper does not have the holes cut into the steel already i think its going to be a lot of work for a small set of fog lights. also you run the risk of messing up which would be a very costly mistake to say the least. or even damaging the bumpers strength in some way i don't know if the heat from a grinding wheel and a plasma cutter would effect the bumper in any other way if that makes sense i doubt it but, it would be in the back of my mind.

don't get me wrong i like mine as small fogs go they are actually usable and pretty bright. mine also have a rather nice glass lens on them nice and thick i'm actually thinking of retrofitting mine with s2000 projectors ap1's to be exact 55 watt ballast and 3000k bulbs its going to be wicked.

 

btw the bull bar with just turn signals is just the standard bull bar i don't believe that means it's the ld model or anything. the deluxe bull bar is the one with the lights an signals all together in that little plastic insert.

 

Thanks stunt man, i think it would be sick with the hid's in there. I think the plactic inserts look so much cleaner than just the turn signals.

 

I miss my stock fogs too. Really helped when it was raining to see the curb I though.

I'm just going to get some lightforce lights and turn night to day though.

 

Yeah the lightforce 240 do light up but i want some wide and close to light up the side of the road.

 

lol if i had my way i would have wanted just the fog lights no marker lights or signals. lol in place of the signals they could have engineered a recovery point of some sort for double line pulls and such or just to plain old yank someone out.

for the life of me i can't understand why they didn't think about adding recovery points to one of the most stout off road bumpers for our trucks. that makes no sense to me at all. provisions for a high lift but your going to mangle your powder coat using them but, no place to add a shackle?

aren't light force lights adjustable?

shit thats why i want a set the beam pattern is fully adjustable to suit what ever need you may have pretty slick.

instead of cutting a gaping hole to fit the arb fog kit in there have some one at a shop plasma cut a small round hole finish it off and mount a set of vision -x solstice lights in there they are much better than the arb fogs. plus you can choose your beam pattern from a pencil beam to a euro beam to a full on flood. they are small very durable relatively cheap considering and are extremely bright that might look very nice if you do it right.

 

Dosent the first gen have a small area that a shackle can be attached rite around where the frame is?

 

Yes they are adjustable but i like them focused for long range and kinda use my low beams as foglamps

your saying you know they are adjustable right? i know they are so if you want a set that throw far down the road simply adjust them to resemble a pencil beam configuration.

 

Yes, thats how i have them adjusted i just would like more close, wide light

and you need more light on the road with those things up front like that?

lol go with leds or retrofit a nice set of fx-r projectors my projectors completely blow away every other light on the truck you would never need fogs again lol.

i light up almost 7 lanes across the only reason i was going to retrofit my arb fogs was for actual fog i would have them wired so i could run my parking lights and the s2k's with the 3000k to cut through fog and dust better.

believe it or not the pure white light of my hid now piece very well through snow and rain. and when i hit the high beams the 4 vision-x leds come on as well thats the retna melter right there lulz.

i tried to pick different types of lights for different situations but, in reality my low beams are bright enough for anything i could ever encounter.

 

I would say 240's but i dont know how bad you really need the Dakars.

 

vision-x solstice solos in flood pattern i run 2 of those and 2 of the euro beams in the center of my arb and they are the bomb! the floods light up everything up close fill out the foreground so much that on a completely dark road it's almost uncomfortable for my eyes while driving lol.

 

i saw those i think that would be the best way to go for a flood lamp. I would like to get an led light bar and place it in the opening above the roller fairlead
