5 lug lifts. Whatcha know?

Got 1995 5lug v6 seein what people know about lifting them

 

Check out Mowtaco's build thread on here...and PM him with any questionsbyou might have. But to answer your question best of my knowledge you will do a spindle lift up front and im not to sure about the rear. Good Luck!

are you sure that you have a v6?

5lugs have the 2.4 4 cylinders..

 

I was wondering the same thing... But then I thought of the 1-ton Toyotas of the early 90s that were used as U-hauls and RVs. They had the 3.0 and I believe were on the 5 lug platform (at least in the front, the rear was obviously a dually). I figured they probably produced a few with normal beds too.

 

Yea all 2wd are 5lug no matter engine but mines a 3.4

 

Prerunners are 6-lug

 

Ok, after some researching I learned something new lol
1995-1997 tacomas had the option of 3.4 in any combination of trucks.

But where you say all 2wd are 5lug is not entirely correct. Starting in 1998, Toyota offered a prerunner, which is a 6lug 2wd truck.

All 5lug tacomas are however 2wd.

 

I think you might have a pretty rare Tacoma then...

There are 5 lug tacomas 2wd with 3.4 engine and auto or 5 speed combinations. They were made under 1st tacoma iteration before the S-Runner badging came out.They are very rare and quite fast off the line. Most 5 lug tacomas non X-Runner use the 2.4 2rzfe engine.

As for the lift, spindles up front and shackles in the back are what you need. My personal recommendation is to keep your truck stock and have fun because it should be pretty quick. If you want a higher truck, buy a 6 lug prerunner or 4x4.
