Very true - that's why I suggested her seeing if we had a branch local to her. We have branches all over the place in some of the most random cities.

Our corporate in-house LO is extremely knowledgeable and is licensed in all 50 states so he may be able to help more than your typical call center/corporate guy.

I bought a house at 22 after being in my job for about 3 months... and that was August of 2009 in the middle of a recession. You've got a good shot.

 Do you mean no BAD credit? Having no credit is not good either. They will want to see a history of being able to pay on time, etc. in regards to your income and other liabilities. Do you mind me asking what kind of loan you currently have? Surely that must have upped your credit score a bit.

    I agree.

If you have a loan, you have to have at least something on your credit - assuming you've made more than just a few payments.

You are also entitled to one free credit report per bureau each year. It is best to contact the bureaus directly for this, at least in my experience.

Although, once you apply for a loan with somebody, they have to send you a disclosure which will contain your scores (from the bureaus they used).

correct, no bad credit, just no credit which he told me was better than bad, i thought they were the same. Its a 2000 loan, he told me i need to keep it for a yr before i pay it off. I think i got it in july. I had an apartment in my name for almost a year i was 2 months short because my ex turned pyscho, the other guy i was seeing got me fired from one of my jobs and i lost the 2nd job i had bc the manager didnt like me, so i told the manager of the apartment what happened a month before i left and she let me out of the lease and i moved up here.

In regards to the employment, it is against the law to say that you were fired, they can only verify that you worked there for x amount of time and your rate of pay.

As for using the housing for reference, if they let you out of the lease it may not be so bad.

Nikki you might want to check into your credit score on your own just so you won't have to wonder and it might put you at ease. At least from there you will have a better idea of what to go after in regards to a loan. Can your mom or someone co sign for you?

The credit vendor should still automatically disclose the scores to her though, correct? I believe that is called the Risk-Based Pricing Disclosure.

It won't have the full report on it, but it will have the scores. I know the one I got when I had a LO pull my credit for me a month ago had the scores on it.

Just an inquiry (credit check, Nikki) will give you scores too. But too many inquiries don't look good either. Looks like you are trying to get a loan and are being rejected.

    they were both restraunt jobs

and for the lease, she said she would let me out and i signed the papers that said so, but then i got a letter a couple months later said they were suing me for like 800$ something, didnt state a reason, i left the apartment in better condition than i got it and paid all my rent. but i havent heard anything else besides the one letter i got and that was before i got my loan :notsure:

how do i check my credit score? dont they take points off when you check it? I dunno if anyone would co sign, im sure my mom porb would if she can, but i know shes pretty bad off with all the credit and irs and everything.

Check your credit score for free here: http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/pubs/consumer/credit/cre34.shtm

Was the $800 for the lease the amount of two months? That needs to be straightened out because if they send it to collections that becomes an ugly mark. I know that was before your loan but it takes time to process because by law they have to give you a certain amount of time to respond and they have to go through certain steps before they can ding you. Usually about 6 months after default.
