So my truck started rattling the other day and it turns out that the upstream o2 sensor nuts had disappeared. I did a quick inspection and there was something on the studs that was keeping the sensor from coming off. Upon further inspection it appears that a previous owner for some reason had misplaced the correct nuts and subsequently epoxied over sized nuts on the studs. Now I have to clean the studs off before I can attempt to find the correct size nuts. I was just wondering if anyone else had found any such evidence of "brilliant" previous owners on their trucks.

Mine was amazingly in completely stock form when I got it at 146k miles. Only thing he never did was change the timing belt so I had to take care of that.

On the headliner there is a stain above me in the passenger seat, all over the visor, across the cab above the passenger seat, and some behind the passenger seat in the back of an access cab where someone shouldnt have opened a coke bottle. Thanks bud. Other than that i will never complain. Best truck ever.

Mine had PAINTED ON PINSTRIPES and they were light blue on the indigo ink. They also had a chrome bull bar and those stupid chrome tail lamp grilles. All of that is gone now, thank god. They also had painted TRD on both sides of the scoop in cursive writing. Blech!

The previous owner of my 4Runner had literally never used the 4 wheel drive system, so the 3rd of 4th time I went to use it the entire front differential exploded, and both CV axles failed. Other than that I love my 4Runner. :D

Where the air box connects to the intake tube had broken off completely allowing all of the air for the engine to bypass the filter and go straight in. I didn't discover the redneck epoxy job until a few months after I had purchased the truck and taken it through the desert and some sand dunes. I just hope there wasn't too much damage. Upside, a new cold air intake was a justified must have.
