i thought about it...but ive just never gotten around to it...plus its super secure where its at...it doesnt budge

and i dont have any need for an aftermarket headunit so the stock one will stay...so that leaves the ashtray as the only feasible location...

That only works with an aftermarket stereo. My truck had the big CD/Cassette.........

My 02 was awesome, I miss it alot. It was perfect. (for me)

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.

Well said fellas. I always like the looks on other peoples faces when I took the for a mountain ride in it. The "Oh Shit handle work" out I called it. Now I know why they put two on the passengers side. :D They looked at me like I was nuts. Then I would say "Let's see you stock truck do that". Man I miss it.

I love my truck! I couldn't imagine any other vehicle that I would rather have right now even thought my truck has 240,000 miles! All I have to do is put gas in it and do regular maintainence and it starts up every time.

    getting there....
well.....i had an 06, then traded for an 04 4x4.................was a bit hesitant at first of the power difference, but im used to it now, and the first gen is friggin awesome!! a very moddable and capable ride, and the 4x4 shift lever is a great feature....instead of push button, and i love the locker too.

I absolutely love my 1st. gen. I love to just look at it, and know that I saved for a very long time to have one. And now that I do, I just cant stop modding it and making her more and more great! :) Shoot!!! sometimes I just go for a cruse in my truck, just bc I love driving it, and watch other guys in there trucks stare at mine, hehehe. Im ganna love it even more once I put my Toytec C/O's, and TC UCA's on. Oh.... and my new sway bar bushing:)

I can't even put words to how much I love my truck. I never think about what my next truck is going to be. I just think, "What will I put under the hood when this engine runs out?" or "What color will I paint her when it starts falling off?" or "Do I give it to my kids when I die, or should I be buried in it?"

Before I owned this truck I thought that cars were just one of those things that you bought, used until you grew tired of them, and got something else. Well this truck is different, because her and I are going to have a long history!

I have an '01 Limited DoubleCab and had no idea that other trucks this year had the 4WD J-Shifter. Mine has the push button, and I just thought all the new trucks had this. I've had an '85 and a '92 (both 4x4) with the J-Shifter. Is the push button 4WD only on the Limited models? I'm like a lot of you and would rather have to actually shift it into 4WD than just push a button. I also wanna switch out the automatic hubs to manuals someday soon.

my brother has a 99 and my good buddy has a 98. Both TRD 4x4.. brothers looks like its right from the factory, my buddies has been rolled twice.. so its got some issues.. however both have over 250000 miles and both run hard. They're why i got my tacoma. Still i love the style of the 98-99 tacomas. They sure rock shit

ya'll with the push button can do the 2lo mod i think its called...where you can actually make it where you can shift from 2hi to 4hi to 4lo and then to 2lo...not sure of the usefulness...but its something only yall can do
