LT install on 2nd Gen

    Looking for a shop in the Sonoma, Marin County area that knows what they are doing. Will require welding. This is for the front and rear.

    Any ideas??

    I don't know anyone that far north familiar enough with LT to recommend.
    If you want to come south a bit, I'd recommend Infamous Metal Works in Santa Clara. If you want to go way North, I'd recommend Samco Fabrication in Reno.

    On a separate note, you might want to read through this thread if you haven't already.

    LT is not a "set it and forget it" type of suspension, especially if you plan on beating on it. I would certainly recommend outsourcing certain parts of a LT install that require precision and/or strength (bed cage as an example). However, my general recommendation is if you are not willing to install the LT yourself or do not have the tools required, than LT is probably not right for you.

    YotaTech in Santa rosa has probably dealt with a few kits.

    Edit: the name isn't YotaTech, it's something else... On the industrial side of SR near Todd rd. Maybe someone else will chime in on the name

    I have talked with Infamous and he is really nice. I have even been by his shop when I was working down in that area.

    Yes I have read that. I will not be beating on my truck. I wont be jumping sand dunes in Pismo but I like the look and am going for more of a expedition rig. Back country, fire roads, mild rock crawling things like that.

    I have not talked with Yota Tech yet but I thought they did mostly 1st Gen stuff.

    I was just hoping to find the right shop close by.

    On that note, I'd say go with a +2" Front LT kit as opposed to the +3.5" Kit. Both AP and TC offer such a kit. TC has the option for a secondary shock and has the best customer service of all the major LT companies. Not only will it save you some moula, but they are better geared towards that type of terrain to meet your interests. Slightly less travel #'s, but you'll never notice the difference at lower speeds.

    I have thought about that. The 2" kit. TC is what I am going to go with.

    OK maybe I will jump a few sand dunes but it wont be but a once a year kinda thing.


    Sorry no offense but I am not into Engage. Not after some of those Pics in the LT BS section.

    I just really need a good shop somewhat close to me.

    I think this is sort of the same case with me in use of the LT kit, more of a back road expedition sort of rig with maybe once a year jump a dune or two.

    Wondering if you ever did the set up. I am looking to do the same with mine very soon and wouldn't mine actually seeing the set up and taking a ride in it just to see the difference between stock and mild LT as the real serious LT set ups don't appeal so much to me with all the other draw backs, rough handling at low speeds, wind noise, all around loud suspension. I mean it wouldn't be as big of a deal if it wasn't my DD, but it is so have to think somewhat reasonable.
