Blinker blinking faster?

What does it mean when my left blinker is blinking faster than my right? Someone told me that meant I needed to replace a bulb. - But. The thing is, it's slightly intermittent. It blinks faster when driving and it doesn't when in stopped and in park.

Do all the bulbs work? Usually a fast blinker means one of the bulbs is out. Put the 4-ways on, get out of the truck and make sure all 4 blinker lights are working properly.

 

One of your bulbs are toast.. that is all.

 

Your symptoms blow the low voltage at idle theory out of the water.

everything they said, or it just might be a bad connection. the classic test/(sometimes fix) is to walk out and see which light is not blinking and give her a little bump with the side of your fist. i used to do it all the time with my jeep lol. but yeah, it's skipping that light so the other one is blinking double speed!

 

Basic Tools 101, if it moves and it shouldn't, use duct tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. Lastly, if you can't fix it with a hammer, then you have an electrical problem.

dude, i can build shit with wood, fabricate metal, drive anything with a solid chassis any size anywhere, but i sure as hell aint a mechanic. so, before i usually attempt to appropriately fix something or consult someone who can i usually just hit it several times. in my experience it works well on these trucks.

 

Make sure when replacing the old one push hard till you hear it snap. If not any time you go over a bump it will loosen and not work.

 

This is the simplest advice when diagnosing lots of electrical problems. I can't tell you how many light bulbs, A/C control heads, instrument clusters & radios I've diagnosed as bad just by simply tapping/banging on them.

Wow as an avionics technician for 10 years. I never smack things just a light tap or jiggle should do. By the way if all the lights work it's probably the timer relay.

Electronics tools 101. If you cant use a multi meter to fix it, replace it.

 

I would have checked my blinker fluid first... but that's just me.

I only run synthetic in mine.

It turned out that I had a short in my right blinker...and still do so until I replace the blinker housing I guess?

 

If it's just a short in the connector you don't need to replace the whole housing. The connector that the bulb goes in can be replaced by itself. The housing is just plastic and does not have anything to do with the wiring.

 

O rly now? Is this something I can find at autozone by any chance? Haha
