Yeah it still bothers me that Lang and Bourque are on the radio. They would be great for TV, local and natl. How FSN can fire him is beyond me and how Lemieux didn't try to pull strings and get him back on is another thing I dont understand. Youtube them laughing about Hobie Baker dying in a plane crash during a game, they go on for about 5 mins, it's pretty bad. And Eerie acting like he was a critical compnent to the cup wins in the early 90's is another joke.

BTW how did Despress look last night? I saw he had a penalty, but I had crap to do around the house and didn't pay too much attention.

 

Yea Ovi didn't seem to be on the ice doing much but hit people..

Anyone else think the hit from Ovi on Pascal Dupuis was a boarding call? He got freaking laid out and per the NHL rules looked pretty damn "defenseless".

I also thought for his first game Simon Despres did a pretty damn good job. Played smart, took a few chances that paid off to keep pucks in the zone and got a point. Not bad IMO.

Hey speaking of hits anyone see the hit on Cooke at the end of the game? Pretty late and pretty blatent. I know it's Cooke and all but the NHL should investigate and establish that there is no double standard.

I know they look at them. I know they looked at this one. I don’t think they deemed it as worth going further into. I know they looked at it.

On if Cooke is okay:
Cooke is fine.

On if his reputation played into the decision:
In no way, shape or form do I think his reputation plays into the decision at all. I think he’s on the receiving end of this. I don’t think there’s any kind of spite factor or anything. Not at all.

I understand he USED to be a head hunter but people change and he is way better then any of us and is still on one of the top PK lines in the league.
