I was thinking about getting the pioneer avic-z130bt for my truck. Does anyone have any pics of this installed?

I have the AVIC-Z120BT and really have no complaints, It does almost everything I want it to and have had no problems with the deck at all. The only feature that I wish it had is to do a GPS coordinate read out incase i need to relay coordinates over my 2-way radios. I have install pics of mine on my build site. Link Below

I had it installed but I have taken it out a few times to get behind the dash. I have the mic mounted on the top of the rearview mirror. You can harly notice it and it picks up with limited effects for the other person on the other end. I also have the GPS antena mounted on the top of the dash in the corner of the pasenger side, and you cant see it unless your looking for it.

I have the 110bt upgraded to the 120 and plan to upgrade it again to 130bt. I have no complaints and would by the pioneer unit again.

I have the X930 (cheaper unit, but mostly installs the same), and my microphone is attached to a piece of plastic covering the rear view camera wires, between the mirror and the headliner. Works very well there. The mic comes with both a clip and a two-sided tape attachment. I used the tape. The wires run from the head-unit past the glove-box to the passenger A-pillar, up and then across the front of headliner to the mirror assembly.

Also, I put the GPS puck (with its metal base) between the plastic for the defroster duct and the bottom of the dash. The dash has no metal shielding there, it's out of sight, yet works fine.

Since the X930 doesn't have traffic, never had to deal with putting that anywhere.

I also have my mic clipped to the headlinder above the rear view mirror. The wire runs across the headlinder down the a-pillar. I have no problems with the mic.

I am also looking to put in a Z130TB. Most of the youtube video's I have seen for the unit also talks about using apps via the iphone. Can you view apps through other smart phones like a DroidX or HTC Thunderbolt?

Can't beleive no one has any pics of their unit installed...

I have a Samsung Galaxy S and it will stream audio through BT on the X930, but not display things like album covers - seems Pioneer has a thing with Apple. The unit doesn't display album covers even on a CD of MP3s with cover art - only for an iPod or iPhone hooked up through their cable (and then it will also send video, etc.)

Never took any pics as never seemed worth it, but I ran out today to shoot two for whatever help they provide. Sorry for poor quality in reduced size phone pics.

Question for you bud. When wearing sunglass's... can you see the screen very well?

I have a Alpine INA-W900 in my Diesel. While driving during the day. I wear polorized sunglass's and I can't see my screen very well.

I feel your pain as I wear prescription polarized sunglasses.

My Pioneer X930BT (can't speak for all models, don't know) works well. The angle of greatest attenuation is with the glasses tilted at about 70 degrees from the normal view. I had to test it since I didn't see any difference with normal head tilts. I really wanted to use the stock head-unit -- I bought and installed BluLogic and the Toyota branded iPod interface, but the unit was almost unreadable unless I lifted the glasses or tilted my head by almost 90 degrees.

This is not to say the Pioneer is all that great in bright sunlight; readable, but it does get washed out some. Not as bad as my old car with a cheap carputer touch screen, and not as good as some screens made for outdoor use they have at work. The Tacoma dash configuration/angle sucks for daylight use of just about any screen except the transflectives (IMO).

I just ordered the z130bt for my 2011. Thanks for the pics! I am going to mount the mic on the mirror trim panel like yours. Hope my install turns out as clean as yours.

1st - the traffic receiver (just in case you don't know) provides "sort of" live data about traffic back-ups, etc. I say sort of based on the usefulness of my wife's Garmin, not on any Pioneer product.

The Z930 has the traffic receiver bundled. The X930 needs an add-on box. There isn't a lot of room in the Tacoma dash and I don't know the requirements for the Pioneer box to make traffic work on the X. It might be no problem at all, I just don't know. Wouldn't want to recommend and then find out it required a major effort to work.

How is your wifes? Is it quite useful or kinda useless?
Probably wont work as good with pioneer as well...
do you know if they both have voice control?
