Size bolt that holds bed to frame?

Does anyone know what the bolt is that holds the bed to the frame rail? I've been searching for afew hours and all I've found is a post from another forum saying its a 17mm but nothing about the what kind of bolt. Just seeing if anyone could help me out.

the title says bed to the frame but in your post you said bed to frame rail, are you talking about the ones on the floor holding the bed down or the scews holding the bed rails on?

Hopefully this is what the OP wants as well but what's the size of the bolt for the bed tithe frame? The star shaped one. I put my tire carrier on and accidentally stripped one..

 

It's the Torx T55 star. I bought mine at autozone with a with a attachment for the top

 

K thanks dre. So the bolt is called a T-55 star? Or is that the name of the socket?

 

It's just called the Torx T55 star. The socket is welded to it. Cause it's such a big size you can't twist it like a regular Allen. I'll post a pic right now

 

Sorry I got my words mixed up. I'm talking about the bolts that actually hold the ded to the frame of the truck. I've been getting a kind of thuding sound when I go over speed bumps. I checked it out and I can lift the front passenger corner of the bed so I checked underneath and the bolt is missing to attach the bed to the frame.

 

if this is the "bed bolt" your talking about. the T55 star will do it

Actually I have a 2003 so its a 1st gen. I probably should've put that in the original post so my bad.

i was still in bed when i picked up my phone and saw this thread. and i went out side in the freezing cold for your first gen?! haha

 

Here's the spot I'm talking about.
The first- I'm pointing the bracket where the bed is supposed to be bolted to.
2nd- where the bolt is supposed to be.
3rd- a shot of how the bed can be lifted from the bracket since the bolt is non existent.

When I took off my bodylift I found that the head of the bolt you are looking at is 3/4, I think thats about 17< but I couldn't matchup the threads with any bolts I could find so what I did was retap the thread and use regular bolts 3/4 head, 7/16's shaft and coarse thread. Don't hold me to that 7/16's, my memory is fading, but that is the solution I would recommend. I'm sure the stock bolts are like 20 bucs at the $tealership.

 

It would be metric.

M12x1.25 and its probably like 30mm long.

 

So I got a T55 for my 2014 Taco… Not the right size… Any one know which is the correct size for the bed bolt?
