Looking to trade my 5 lug towards a double cab silver pre runner. What would you pay for a base model, sr5, and or trd sport model with 50k? Trying to roughly see what I shoul look for. Theres a ton for sale in my area, just trying to paciently bargain hunt. Thanks!

I'm not sure on exact OTD numbers, but I know that DC prerunners go for about $3-5k less than similar 4x4 models in my area. What year are you looking at? That will determine price. A '10 with 50k will not hold its value as well as an '05 with 50k...

Probably between 06 and 08 nothing newer with that kind of miles in my range, I wanted a 4x4 but the extra couple thousand doesnt work.,the main thing for me is the v6 and 6 lugs

Look at KBB + NADA + Similar on Craigslist in your area... That should get you a good feel the price. Region plays a huge factor.

thats awsome! my toyota dealer made me lo'l today, i went by and test drove a 2008 speedway blue trd off road double cab prerunner with 54,000 miles. they wanted 25 grand. i said no way.... they came back with an awsome deal of 22.8k get outa town. no 4x4 nothin. it had a cool blue tooth system and a sub but that doesnt justify the extra thousands of dollars. ive seen much much greater deals online in my area i may pursue. if i post a few links to trucks im looking at would anyone be willing to look at them and tell me what they think?

thats a great deal aswell, i have a dependable little taco now, i certainly dont want to get ripped off or get over my head being that im just turning 20 and want to build up my credit. the search continues. they also tried to say my truck had been in a wreck and low balled me but i had it inspected prior to buying, and have both a clean carfax and cars auto dealer sales report

We bought my husband's 2009 SR5 PreRunner with 47k-miles, in fantastic condition, from Carmax, for $19k (sticker). Private sale, I'd say about $16-18k depending on year and condition. KBB really helps give a good base price when taken with a grain of salt. 1st gens hold value better than a 2nd gen too, so don't be surprised when a 100k-mile 1st gen costs the same as a 55-70k-mile 2nd gen.

Ya I was searching for about a year before I found my deal and you have to be ready to jump on yours when it comes up. Mine was on the lot for 1 day before I bought it lol. It's definitely worth the search I love this truck so far. Good luck with your search

Go down to the credit union and join up. Get your own financing in place before you go shopping. Then you can set your price and negotiate only on the cost of the vehicle.

I bought my 06 two years ago with 41K on it for 17,500. That was private party "fair" book value. I bought it from an auto broker that was advertising on Craigslist. I would consider the truck to be in "Good" Condition. At the time, the local Toyota dealer had nearly identical truck in stock with auto trans, campershell, and 60K on it. They wanted 23K and would not budge. I think I did okay.

The deals are out there. The story I got on mine was that the previous owner was getting divorced and had to sell the truck. There was paperwork for an extended warranty in the glovebox. It did not transfer to me, but shows me he had intended to keep it, and likely took decent care of it.

Get pre-approved for financing, know what you want and what you will pay. Then wait for a serious seller who is ready to sell, not just willing to sell for the right price.

i just bought a minty silver 2007 prerunner trd sport double cab with the long bed with only 23,081 miles for $20,800. a week earlier i passed up (actually missed it by a day when i went back to put in an offer) the exact same truck setup with 67k that sold for $18,900. but i think i got a great price as it is well worth the extra cash for super low miles. It also was at the kelly blue book middle price on the dealer trade in numbers--cool. 4x4's in my area (near portland, OR are going for 6-8 thousand more than pre-runners with the same sport trd set-up. I didn't think it was worth the extra cash since we get snow once or twice every couple years. chhers--ted
