Just installed a block heater. OEM style from TRDParts4U (their shipping time sucked 2weeks+). The install was simple.

Drain radiator via turn screw on bottom passenger side (1.5gallons of coolant came out)
hammer the front drivers side freeze plug with a big flat head screw driver + hammer (taps 4-5" away)
---> make sure to hit it on the side
Pull out freeze plug with needle nose pliers
Some coolant leaked here (maybe 1-2 cups worth)
Put silicone grease on block heater o ring + around engine hole
insert freeze plug with "U-Shape" facing front/headlights
tie off 3 zip ties (routed wire across to battery & then to lower bumper
Pour coolant back into resevoir + open radiator cap and fill full of coolant - let car idle for 2-10minutes & toped off radiator coolant
So far no leaks + still have warm air

I can't see the coolant circulating though.... which worries me. But it is like 20F outside so maybe it doesn't need to go through the radiator or maybe it never looks like flowing water on top (idk).

Hope to test the block heater morning start difference tomorrow and the rest of next work week. Very satisfied now. Job took 30 minutes. Then there was an extra 1hr of me flipping out to my friends wondering why the coolant didn't look like it was circulating.

Not sure this counts but I helped my daughter's boyfriend completely detail his black 93 4runner today. He went mudding with it and it was caked with red clay mud. Clay bar, Mequires black box polish with the orbital, and complete waxing. Looks pretty good for an almost 20 year old truck with 150k on it. Just killing time until my Avid sliders get here and I can start prepping them for paint.

So far I've added an Advance folding bed cover and since removed it. Gave it to my son in Maine, he has an 05 2wd. GT perfect fit seat covers. Weathertech floor mats and window vent visors. Waag center brush/grill guard. Hose clamp tailgate mod. Turned off the seat belt chime. Added Ultra-Gauge. Trailer hitch. Softopper. Replaced sun visors with slide out style. Toyota bed extender. Had Firestone Destinations and now Michelin LTX AT2 in stock size. More mods to come; Fog lights, locking storage in bed, intermittent wipers. Now looking for Radio/HU upgrade. and maybe a lift way down the road.
Broke a tab off my Advanced hard folding tonneau cover.
Kinda pisses me off. I have a list of problem with the cover. I'll be calling the company on Monday.
Washed and waxed. Ready for some snow.

I had a laundry list of problems with my BakFlip folding hard cover. A re-design seemed to have fixed all of the things I had problems with, but who knows. :notsure: I don't think any sort of folding cover is practical in NY, unless it has all metal construction. Too many plastic bits break when the temps drop below freezing. I shattered the back window on my Supertop, but it was -3 out and I shouldn't have tried to bend the vinyl. They replaced it and I learned to not use is during the winter, but I've broken washer fluid caps and other more critical bits thanks to the cold. Passenger side handle on my Corolla crumbled while trying to open it one year. Damn 100 summers and -25 winters kill plastics.

5100s installed in the front set at 1.75, stock suspension in the back, truck sits level now. Went with 1.75 to avoid cab mount rub.

Will have more pics tomorrow when it is light out.

Installed Husky front flaps- looks much better than stock and should help keep at least some of the road grime off her. Loaded up the band gear- ready to drive my Tacoma to Tacoma and makes some ears bleed tonight!
