    Hey i just bought a 2012 Tacoma i want to put a 3" lift kit and get new tires and rims. I have been looking at the Firestone destination M/T i am just wondering what sort of clearance a 3" lift would allow. What size tires could i put on.

    Most people with a 3'' lift run a 285/75/16 or 285/70/17.

    Eibach coils. 5100's all around. AAL. WickedFlow
    You'll need new wheels with a backspacing of 4.5 or less, Or wheel spacers- to fit a 285 tire to prevent your tire rubbing on everything.

    Im not sure what you mean by backspacing tire sizing and tires are a whole new thing for me. Would you guys be able to clarify how the sizing works.

    I have a 2012 prerunner with the factory 16" wheels. Will 285/75/r16 fit. or will i have to get new wheels I like the way the factory 16s look and want to keep em if possible

    Starting over with a new GMC AT4 Satin Steel Metallic Softopper, Bilstein 5100's @ 1.75 in the front, TSB Rear, 17x8.5 Lvl 8 Guardians, 265/70-17 Falken Wildpeak AT3W, Scooped, Anytime fog mod, Osram Nightbreakers, LED Interior lights, Debadged, Painted valance, Removed rear head rests, De-flapped, Hidden Hitch installed, Weather Techs, Flyzeye'd A/W/A, Cover Kings.
    285/75/16 won't fit at all, lift or no lift, without some serious trimming. Wheels won't solve your problem.

    Lift is irrelevant with 285's, that's why I said lift or no lift. If you want to run them, you'll be trimming.
