from my experience...you'll have issues if you have a DUI, wreckless driving or anything in that area...since you'll be handling an emergency vehicle..I think you'll be fine...don't wait til the court date...just go to the court and pay the fine...get it over it unless you wanna fight it.

I don't know how the court system works in AZ but here you would have a couple of options:

Reserve judgement - You admit guilt but because of a previously clean record the court reserves entering a judgement for 6 months or a year. If in that time you have no more offenses the charge is dismissed.

Civil penalty - You agree to pay the fine as a civil penalty and nothing is entered on your record.

You may want to check with the prosecutor and see if any options like these exists.

Really? I have no idea how it works here..I know I have 3 traffic violations...and I've had to pay a fine for all 3. I never waited for the court date since I knew I was guilty and had no reason to fight the cop. So I just paid the fine the next day and that was that...civil penalty...thats awesome tho, I wouldn't have those 3 violations on my record.

In my case, I'd rather not see the judge here. He's my ex wife's father..he hates me because I didn't put up with his psycho daughter who thought I was fucking my dirt bike and wouldn't let me go ride...or even go to work because I was cheating...I would just agree and tell her I was cheating...with a fire hose...and she would get mad at the fire hose. Just pay the fine man!

Take it easy brother, I work in a field the is sensitive to legal violations. Trust me, you will not be affected. You could ask for a defferal. If it's available, you will still pay a fine but after a short period of time it goes of your record. Further, even if you get a coviction, just explain to the prospective employer that it was an ATV on a public road...can't see anyone giving a shit.

Hey bro, your worrying is probably the worst of this ordeal. Your already paying your due's. I don't think this is that big of a problem. Just be honest with judge and it will go away. Maybe a small fine, no BIGGEE!!

you don't need an attorney. your ticket will be a few hundred dollars, and without a lawyer your expungement paperwork will be $120. with an attorney your expungement paper work will cost $600.

either way you are probably paying for that ticket. unless... here in ca if you don't say anything to incriminate yourself and the cop can't recall every detail or simply not show up the ticket gets thrown out. (correct me if im wrong)

here in ca expungement paper work and the filing fees are about $120 if you do i yourself, you would speak to the court's clerk for the step by step process. if you hire an attorney to do it for you then it goes up to a minimum of $600.

I have received a couple of verbal warnings when I was younger when I was on a dirtbike(15, 16) but I was never riding on the road, in the grass to get to a riding area. 99% of the time I think they just have more important things to take care of.

haha, sure. The woods here are very dense, and we ended up farther away than I thought. (the trails are 5 blocks away from our house, but we wandered off the trail and ended up lost as hell). And when we finally got out of the woods we ended up on the road that we were unfamiliar with, followed the road in the grass till we got to an intersection that I knew. And when we went to cross the intersection we got pulled over (well, I did...lol)

Under normal circumstances I would have backtraced my path and went home in the woods. But I was on reserve and wouldn't have made it home.

I never ride on the road....it wears out tires and is dangerous...figures one of the few times I ever did it I get busted :(

Ok, so my court date was back on the 4th. Figured that I would update you guys.

I went that morning, appeared in front of the judge. When he read what "crime" was being arraigned for (which was operation of an unregistered motor vehicle), he asked if I had registered the vehicle (In which in normal cases I would present my registration and he would dismiss the charges)...I paused and said well no...the vehicle was an ATV.

The judge started to laugh, and the prosecutor started to laugh...then the prosecutor said that he recommended dismissal of the charges. The judge agreed, and I was on my way without having to pay a dime. The prosecutor just said if I ever came in for the same thing that they would prosecute me...no problem...deuces!!!
