Busy two days for us! Our son and grandson came up from DC on Friday evening. Yesterday morning Mark Jr and I went to Allentown for the FDHAS 2 Day Gun Show - they have one 5 times a year and we try to get there for each.

When we got back it was out to get our Christmas tree - we opted for a 12 foot frazier Fur. Brought it home, out it in the stand and, while my wife and grandson baked cookies, Mark Jr and I put the lights on he tree.

Then, we had dinner with all of us, Lynn's parents, my mom and our niece's husband who just happened to be in town to make a delivery all the way from Alabama.

After dinner we finished decorating the tree and had our "early" Christmas and exchanged gifts with our son and grandson sice they stay home in DC for the holidays.

Today, we took Donnie back to his 18 wheeler so he could get on to his next stop, did a little shopping and then came home and finished putting up the outside decorations.

We still have the artificial tree in the dining room to decorate...but I'm done for this weekend!!!!

    Ken:
Sad to say but you are correct.

On a better note I used the ham bone from Thanksgiving and made bean soup. We also baked peanut butter cookies today. My wife wanted me to get some peanut butter cookie dough. LOL

I had everything I needed except the Hersheys Kisses. We wipped out 6 dozen of them in less than 2 hours which included making the dough. I like my Kitchen Aid mixer. ;)

Beautiful day here today, clear and mild...most unusual for this time of the year.
I had the whole week-end off and finally caught up on all the housekeeping and yard chores I haven't had time for.
Even washed the Tacoma! It needed it.
Spent the afternoon tuning saws and getting all my stuff ready for work tomorrow. This good weather won't last but while it does I'm enjoying every minute of it. Bad weather slows our work down and eventually stops it altogether. Kind of an early installment on my retirement...every year.

No fresh cookies here, either. But I whipped up a batch of BisQuik biscuits this morning. That's about the extent of my baking ability. If I make enough, and make them big enough, they're great for sandwiches in my lunch.

My grandma taught me how to bake when I was young. If she was alive today she would love a Kitchen Aid mixer. We did everything with a bowl and spoon. ;)
