My everyday carry is a benchmage griptillian, half serrated. I use it for everything and I've found that its the best work knife I've ever used. In my GHB I have a benchmade Nimravus, also have a small ESEE and a SAK. I keep a SOG SealPup Revolver in the truck for emergencys.

keep in mind s30v is going to be hard to resharpen when it eventually gets dull. s30v is awesome when done by some companies but, imo i like 1095 crovan for an easy to sharpen blade out in the bush especially if it was going to be an extended stay in the wilderness.

everyday use is a ka-bar folding half serrated.

this thing stays in the truck. a friend of my moms custom makes knives and sent me this one when i was doing a tour in afghanistan. i was always around ancop and ana soldiers, and you never can trust em so this was just some added protection attached to my plate carrier. /Users/adamlauver/Pictures/iPhoto Library/Masters/2011/08/12/20110812-122512/DSCF0304.JPG

    Past EDCs:
    • Kershaw Leek - first one's spring broke. Kershaw replaced it. Too thin to do much but open letters, so it's retired.
    • Benchmade VEX - great knife, G10, good steel, made in China. I'm fully convinced that BM discontinued it because it was eating into sales of their more $$ knives at its $40 price point. Still keep it in the truck usually.
    • Spyderco Harpy - very cool knife in theory. All stainless and fully serrated. Slick as snot though, and not good for much other than shredding stuff when you want a nice clean cut. Retired.
    • Cold Steel Ti-Lite - neat knife, flicks out quick, new ones have AUS 8 steel which is better than the steel mine came with. Still, I don't carry it much.
Current EDC is a Spyderco Endura4 with Wave feature. Flicks out instantly, great steel, wicked sharp, light, large, durable. The only thing it won't do well is pry. Wicked knife for EDC and does great work on boxes and mail too.

Trying to talk myself out of an Emerson CQC-10 for a bigger blade when I can't carry a gun. Seems like a good drop point blade (plain edge for me please), nice steel, thick, with G10 scales. We'll see if I pick one up or not.

heres the knife my moms friend made for me. he does all his own work. the sheath is custom fitted to the knife by a fella he knows. it locks the blade in real nice so you can mount it upside down. the whole time i was in afghanistan i had it mounted up side down on my plate carrier since i was always working with ana and ancop soldiers.

That is a beautiful knife. It looks extremely well made and it's always nice to have the personal touch on something like that.

I am not a huge fan of kydex sheaths, but the green looks really great.

    cheers
