So I'm pretty sure I'm selling my Tacoma. One of my friends with a kinda rougher background moved in with us and now my parents have to pay for his insurance and gas and everything else, so he has asked me to start paying my own gas and I just cant afford it in my Tacoma. I get like 16 mpg and It cost my $50-60 dollars a week and thats running it dry and driving it easy. Also my truck has 203K miles on it and I'll be going off to the University of Alabama next year for college so i need something with less miles. I've found an 01 Civic that I really like for a good price so I'll prolly go with it. Its a 4cyl 5spd with only like 126K miles. So yeah...I'll definitely miss my truck and its gonna be tough without 4x4 but my friend has a truck he said I can use whenever, so i'll make it. I will definitely buy another Tacoma down the road I just cant afford it now!

you should be getting better than 16 mpgs...maybe time for a really good tune up.

Your situation is kinda strange...but you have to do what you have to do if it comes down to it. Good luck.

I have tuned it up...I maybe get 17 or 18 now but it still isn't enough because I have to pay for all my dates and stuff too

Sorry you have to let your baby go but yep...paying for gas is a part of ownership. It's like buying food for that cute little puppy. You just gotta do it.

What kind of tacoma is it? (ext. cab, 4x4, manual?) Do you have any pics of the truck? Do you have a lead foot ot justify for the 16 to 18 mpg? How many miles, condition, etc.? I live just over the line in Ms and might be seriously interested...

    Thanks

Sick bro I also drive an 01 civic 5 speed when I want to save gas. I'd sell my left nut before my truck.

who asked you to start paying for your own gas? your dad or your friend? if your dad he is making you pay for your gas while he pays for your friends. seems like you're getting screwed imo, but i'm sure i don't know the whole story. and if your friend asking then idk what to think.

    anyways too bad i guess

Am I the only one who cannot make any sense out of the OPs situation? His friend moved in, so his parents are now being forced to pay for said friends insurance/gas/living expenses, and then (?) told the OP that he needs to pay for their own gasoline?

I get 18 mixed. 16 is pretty shitty. But if you're going to college, you won't be driving much because everything is walking distance....

Oh well, kid probably sold the thing anyway
