Glad to hear you got satisfaction. But next time remember theses words:

"I'll remember this when the survey comes." (It can apply to good things or bad things)

Car salesmen live and die by their precious little surveys. I actually had a guy at a Ford dealership tell me he wouldn't sell me a car after I made a fuss about them trying to pull a bait and switch on me because he thought I would give him bad marks on his survey. I think the guy who sold me my truck spent more time explaining to me what I needed to do when the survey came than he did showing me how all the options on my truck worked. And on the day that survey comes if there is the slightest bit of dissatisfaction in your mind do not fill out that survey until you are 105% satisfied. Let them know the survey came but you can't fill it out until everything is taken care of. That is how I got the 05-08 suspension TSB done on my 09.

My truck was driven from Sacramento to Carson City (134 miles) on a day where the wind gusts were 50-70 MPH. I thought for sure I’d reject the truck but there wasn’t a rock chip to be found. Anyway, if a Toyota truck isn’t tough enough to handle some old man driving it for a few hundred miles it’s not worth owning.

As far as busting the dealers balls on a window tint or whatever I wouldn’t have done it. It’s better to build a positive relationship since they may have the truck when you are not there. People will always fuck you over if they get a chance if you have given them a hard time.

I had a girlfriend once who was stewardess. She told me about a passenger who gave a steward a hard time. Well this guy (who was gay) dropped his pants and rubbed the rim of the passengers coffee cup on his ass and then served it too him. So be careful about giving someone a hard time that is in the position to fuck you over if they get the chance.

    LMAO..

Well I picked up the truck today, they DID tint the windows and I probably could have gotten more, but I'm not greedy, I'll take it, I'm happy.
I also got 5 free months addded to the tag (doesn't expire 'till May of 2010 now) And $50 back.

I've already got Weathertech floor liners and a fold-a-cover g4 tonneau on the way. Also have rims and tires picked out and will probably purchase those shortly too. Man the stock ones are ugly:puke:

I'm almost positive that Reno Toyota would throw you a bone for the late arrival and extra mileage... you dealer should too. Plus, not to diss all salesmen, but most of them have no idea about anything related to your vehicle or dealer policies/vehicle warranties... my salesmen told me that the cool thing about the TRD Offroad package is that "if you are crusing on the freeway and you come across snow you can just HIT THE LOCKER and it wont slide around..." this is 100% incorrect in so many ways... he was just trying to make the sale despite not knowing anything about the truck or how/when to use a locker. He also said "the stock tires are the best off road tire BFG makes", luckily I had a good sense of humor and just agreed with the monkey, I had done all my research and was just being polite while I drove the thing around the block before buying it.

The moral of the story is that you have to be in charge of the service and do the research yourself... this is the best place to start so kudos there. Talk to the parts guys about warranty issues and ask questions on this forum... toss the salesmans card once the check is signed.

Oh, I see you got all set up. Sweet.

Wow? I guess I must be really anal? I made sure that my truck had less than 10 mile on it when I took delivery. (It had 7 mile)

I made it a point that I wouldn't accept the truck if it wasn't trucked to the dealership.

But the main thing is that you are happy!

Looks like you're off to a running start on the Mods. Enjoy the truck!

Being a pain in the ass for the sales dept has nothing to do with the service you get in the back. Toyota keeps tabs on the service depts by randomly sending satisfaction surveys. Everytime I go to the dealer they are constantly saying "please gives us a good rating". "If we didn't do something right, bring it to our attention before you get the survey."

And you don't have to go to the dealer that sold you the truck. Any Toyota dealer will service your truck. I have visited 5 different dealers for service without any problems.

Personally, If I lived in Hawaii, and bought a Tacoma that had to be trucked in from another state, Id be worried about water damage. :D
