I would be very interested. I would LOVE the fuel mileage and also it would be great to have it serviced if I do ever take it to South America.

I also would be interested in providing you a place to register them in the states. It is EASY to register a diesel, out of country vehicle in Montana. My buddy got his BJ40 in B.C. and drove it home to Montana. Walked into the DMV and registered it without a glitch. I have bought a nd sold a few Toys over the years. they know me well at the DMV registration in my little town.

there is a couple countries down there that use e85 as primary fuel source, it would be cool to get one that runs on corn fuel.

What I would REALLY like is the option of a diesel in my Taco. Some way to order a Hi-Lux Diesel and mount it in my Taco.

The amount of corn it takes to make 25 gallons of this bio-fuel you speak of can feed a person for an entire year. Fact. I'm not down with this bio-fuel crap. Sure someone is gonna strongly disagree with what I just said, but they are also more concerned about a tank of gas for there truck than hunger in our country.

"Hilux" envy" ... kinda reminds me of ... "Coors beer envy" ... 25 years ago when Coors was not shipped east of the Mississippi.

When Coors later became available east of the Mississippi ... the mystique of Coors went to almost zero again.

Kinda like an allusive GF too ... humans tend want what they canNOT have ...

With all that said ... a diesel option for the Tacoma would be nice ... :D

Drove a Hilux in Afghanistan. Wasn't impressed. Neither was any of the U.S. special operation forces, which is why they switch to Tacoma's.

I dont think its people only want that they cannot have, its more specific. The engine. And the build quality.

Japense built tacomas are better quality then american built as per what the dealership told me. If i could get a japanese turbo diesel, tacoma or hilux, doesnt matter, i would jump on it in heartbeat.

FWIW ... That has been my experience too (that Japanese "built" automotive quality control is higher).

That is why the Japanese tend to product the more expensive units in Japan too.

Also, there are other things that bio fuels for a diesel can be made out of. Fryer grease for one.

Hell yes, I'd love to have one if it were factory backed.

BTW, pay no attention to those who ALWAYS want to post "re-post" or some shit about not talking about diesels...let the post nazi just find another thread.

i really don't want to pay diesel toyz in texas 20k for a d4d and a new trans lol can't toyota just make one for the states is it really that much to ask really?
