The stock alloy wheels are 16x7 with a +15mm offset. 285/75-16s will rub on the stock UCA with those wheels. The fix for that rub is a wheel spacer. Depending on how much you move the wheel outward, the pinch weld area will come into play.

If you have aftermarket UCAs, with 2 degrees of built in added caster, the pinch weld area may be a factor regardless as the added caster moves the wheel back in the wheel well a bit.

I wouldn't. If you wheel hard enough to use the sliders, I doubt even Line-X would hold up. I like using cheap stuff like paint and herculiner because it's easy to patch up.

why pay for them to linex when normal paint is going to hold up pretty much just as well at a fraction of the cost....

same reason why, IMO, paying for armor to be powdercoated is retodddid.

Did you prep the metal properly? The paint was doing fine on mine but I took it further and hurculined them which has been holding up great.

I have no idea if they can patch up line-x, but if they can sounds like more trouble than its worth and would get expensive IMO

The walmart near me has it...it's in the automotive section, not the paint section.

Lowes/Home Depot should have it too.

I work at lowes, and am coincidentally here right now, we have both the rustoleom spray on bedliner, also the rustoleom undercoating(which I hear of people using instead). Did anybody need a price? If not I'm not gonna go clear across the store to get it, but if so ill check it whenever I walk by.

Lack of primer will cause you the most problems.

I would never use bedliner on sliders or bumpers. Just my opinion, I don't like the look but more importantly when you start hitting them on rocks the bedliner isn't going to hold up much better than paint. Same goes for Powdercoating. And the touch up of powder coat or bedliner is so much more expensive than just touching up with some paint.

For me, I clean the bare metal with brake cleaner (if painting for the first time) and spray a couple coats of primer. I've had the best results using Rustoleum Rusty Metal Primer (red color). Even though the metal isn't rusty, it seems that the adhesion properties of this primer are better in my experience. I follow up the primer with 3 or more coats of Rustoleum in your preferred color. In my case it is almost always Rustoleum Satin Black. The Satin finish is very close to the look of powder coating. In fact I've used Rustoleum satin black to touch up the ARB bumper on my Land Cruiser and it is a very close match.

When touching up, I lightly sand the damaged area, spray a new coat of primer on damaged area and follow it up with 3 or more coats of paint again. This process has worked well for me on multiple trucks for the last 15 years, and you might notice that I like a good looking truck) ;) . I see no reason to change

X2 this is what I always do.

Prep is the most important stage, a good primer job will give you a lasting final finish.

While it doesn't hold up well to sliding across rocks (does anything?), I've been using herculiner because it holds up well to rocks, debris, etc. getting kicked up and it makes a nice non-slip surface while standing on the sliders.

    Looks sharp!!
