I still cannot figure out what the "Occupy" movement is trying to say. I wonder if they even know.

Yup, I sided with the police before (but reserved my thoughts until further proof existed) and feel even stronger now that the truth 9being the video) comes out.

I think both sides handled it reasonably well. The police better than the protestors.

But in the world of public perception you cannot have an armed police officer pepper spraying an unarmed group of civilians who are sitting in the road. As respectfully as the police handled the situation, I think they lost the battle of public perception.

Protesters should have been executed. They're vermin of the Yolo county area and failure to cooperate with the law enforcement prooves it. Bunch of Whiners

I just think it's funny how they were telling the police "we will let you go" etc. Do you REALLY think the police are going to let you take them "prisoner"? And it was funny how they were all cheering at the end as if they had "won". Lawlz. Stupid hippies. I support all the cops and rally police 100%. That would be a hard job.

fun stuff coming soon! New battery, radiator and CV joints and axles. Added some Rancho RS5000 shocks.
True if thats what they were doing. But they were making passive threats to the police. You cant do that, the police were also severly out numbered and people do crazy things in large numbers like that. They could have started beating them with the night sticks but they didnt. They were also obstructing the police from performing their duties, had they continued their protest in their original manor, that most likely wouldnt have happened. But instead they decided they wanted to threaten police officers, encircle them, and stop them from leaving.

the police only lost the battle of public perception because the media only showed the short clip of the pepper spray and didn't tell you anything about why it was happening. when you see the whole video, the police were completely justified.

I can't help but be stunned by the overwhelming ignorance of most people. I completely agree with what the officers did. In fact I think they showed amazing restraint!! These protestors went from making a political statement to obstrubting an ongoing police investigation. And bordering on aiding in the escape of an arrested person. And all they got was a dose of OC spray. Suck it up kids!!

And before anyone says anything, I have been sprayed directly twice and indirectly at least four or five more times. Its not that bad...

Everybody has the right to "lawfully assemble" and "peaceably protest". This was neither and as is true for most "children" they had to learn that the hard way.

Good work officers. And in case your locals never say it. Thanks for looking out for all of them. Even those douche canoe's in the park.

the pepper spray was justified and the right thing to do IMO. better a bunch of them bitching about sore eyes and throats rather than the media explosion that would have resulted from point blank rubber bullets, bean bags and tasers.

They are fed up with high tuition, having to pay student loans, and having only low paying jobs when they get out of school. I said it in the Funny Pics thread I'll say it here the OWS kids are nothing but a bunch of brats who were babied their whole lives and don't know how to do an honest day's worth of work. I guarantee that every single one of the kids that refused to move and protested the police as a part of the Occupy movement are art, literature, history, majors not medical, mechanical, or something that when you get out of school will ACTUALLY get you paid. I am studying full time, 19 hours a week of classroom instruction, to be a nurse on top of all the studying I have to do after classes. I see the art majors at my school and the only time they have any kind of out side work that need to be done they are drawing a flower or some other bull shit that I could do in 10 minutes and be done with it but because I believe in pulling my own work I must study non stop and give up personal time so that one day I will be able to support myself, and hopefully, my wife and kids. The occupy hippies are a bunch of lazy druggies who do absolutely nothing but complain about how their mideveal literature degree can't get them a job in the real world in which they can afford the lifestyle in which their parents afforded them in high school, college, and probably after college. And somehow one person planted the seed that led to all of this.
/Rant Seriously those kids do nothing but piss me off.

I think that it is funny that kids want to be treated like adults until they have to answer for their actions.
