I threw the TSA thing in there as a separate line item, but really it ties into the Patriot Act.

Those in the occupy group are just making an excuse for their own poor lives. I know plenty of people who have found good jobs in the past few years without college debt or no degree at all.

So I don't want to hear their bitch....

However, as a true hard core conservative, I do support the Constitution / Bill of Rights so a LEGAL protest is okay with me...if not, then spray away.

And just so yall don't think I'm a dick, I also believe in a flat, no loop hole, tax regardless of your income. That is if it's one tax only based on income (no property tax, no gas tax, no sin tac etc..) an payable on election day when you vote.

Sorry, disagree! After seeing the intial pictures of the incident I can see where the police lost, but after seeing the whole thing unfold, the police did nothing wrong except for not arresting the individuals that restrained them as well. How much bullying do you want the police to take before acting? That is essentially what is going on, this crowd/mob/demonstrators are physically not allowing the police to move, they are being restrained against their will. The physical aspect of restraint wasn't actual contact, but by creating a barrier of hippies surrounding the police. They showed more restraint than I think 75% of Americans would.

I really like Mike Rowe's point on skilled laborer. I've thought about going down that path, but I've been brainwashed to have a 4yr degree.

yeah, its passively resisting. physical restraint to the police would have been agressive resistance. either way, they were still disobeying the law

<<<<no degree, no college debt, works in accounts payable and purchasing in a health center, there were other other applicants more qualified than me, but i showed more willingness to learn the tasks ahead and was more driven for the job, than " i have a degree for it i should get the job" attitude

To some what correct but at the same time agree and elaborate, the economy can and is partially to blame for some of the problems that they and others are having. The difference with occupiers is that there is always someone else to blame and someone else should help eliminate their problems.

That's what 99% of the 99%er are fighting against 1% of the 99% are fighting for legitimate reasons as stated above, but most are winney pissey little bitches who complain that the easy majors that they have enrolled in will NOT get them any significant amount of income when they get out of school. The 1% of the 99%er's are fighting that the top 1% of the income brackets are evading taxes. This could be true but who the fuck could blame them?! They pay over half of the taxes in the US and most of it goes to the lazy bums who sit on their asses and let the government take care of them via welfare, ebt, child support that the father/mother cannot pay because;again they are too fucking lazy to try and work hard for a good paying job, so the gov't has to take care of them. But 99% of the OWS kids are fighting high tuition, and complaining that their "degrees" will yield them jobs that will only allow them to live WAY below the means that their parents, who are mainly to blame here, have afforded them for the past 10+ years of life. As I've said I'm a full time Nursing major who right now has about $1,000 in student loans to pay for my FULL 4 years of schooling. That's as far in debt I will get unless something happens, which could only come about by no other fault than that of my own. Why so low? I have scholarships that have allowed me to pay for the majority of my school because I worked my ass off in high school to EARN them.

Great video, thanks. I agree, there has been such a push for people to get a "higher" education that the trades are overlooked. I would rather work with my hands any day than push a pencil but now I do a little of both.

    About the protestors:

If the protestors sat down and came up with an organized message that other americans could understand and get behind that would help the "cause."

If its the 1% that they are fighting against, make it clear. Maybe if the message was clear the police would join in protest realizing that the american public is being robbed by big business, ponzi schemes, lobbyist lining the pockets of politicians etc...everybody is corrupt!

As far as pepper spraying - I guess that's part of the territory when you protest, you got to expect it but maybe not necessary or excessive although I do agree that they should be sprayed just for shear stupidity...what are you people chanting!?

I do believe that some of these protestor are probably from the upper middle class, all the true 99%'ers have to go to work! I always had to work when in school, no time for protesting, gotta pay the rent!

Finally here in Southern California people are obsessed with UCLA and USC schools. I see people wearing clothes, cheering teams etc. These people couldnt get in to these schools if they tried. You have to have not only the top grades going into these schools but $$$$! Why people want to go to these elitist schools is beyond me. I know people who went and are now in mounds of school debt! I'm all for community college, state schools...by the people, for the people.

    Rant summary -

    1) Get a clear message - If its the 1%'ers you fight list why. Protest on their doorsteps!

    2) Police still kinda suck (although i'm older and less rebellious) no offense.

    3) Stay in school (really, inside, unless you like pepper spray with your patchouli!)

    Done

As for the Law Enforcement Officers actions against the OWS kids they gave more than enough fair warning for them to cease and desist their previous actions. To ask the LEO's to release a detanie at the scene of the crime is preposterous. They were arrested for legal legitimate reasons and will have to face the consequences in a court with a judge and a jury of their peers attained via due process. The protesters that were sitting on the ground and got sprayed were given way more chances than I would have allowed. By the time that they were sprayed they were no longer protesting the Occupy movement but protesting the legal arresting of their peers and by refusing to move they then aided and abetted the potential fleeing of arrested protester and also interfered with a LEGAL police investigation. No matter what way you slice it the leo's were in the right do take the actions that they did the OWSer's were given ample warnings and refused to head to them and in turn faced the consequences for it, and now they are complaining that the were unfairly treated. Some are even go so far as to sue the police department because they were hospitalized due to the spray and preexisting conditions such as asthma.

That is true, if that is how you want to describe it. What about the threats? Do you condone bullying? That is what the hippies are doing to the police.
