Craigslist sale online? Input needed.

Hey guys,

Selling my PS3 on craigslist, and I got an email from a guy that is interested. He says he is currently out of the country, and will need the PS3 shipped. He is willing to pay me the money through paypal first, then I can send it to him. He is in Austria right now, and he said he will send an extra $100 to have it shipped. All of this will be through paypal. Should I do it?

it's just too sketchy is all im saying. can they not get ps3's in australia or something? why would someone want to buy one in virginia and pay for all that shipping to send to the other side of the planet? keep it on CL, somebody will buy one as a gift for someone for christmas.

 

do it.. with christmas and the giving spirit...go for it.

I have sold ALOT of things on craigslist and I get these exact emails all the time, they are way too sketchy

 

here's another perspective - you are in australia and want a ps3. do you get one off ebay? buy one in australia? email home and work it out with friends, family, wife, gf etc to send you one? . . . or do you go on criagslist virginia and try to get one?

Guys he said Austria, not Australia...

 

Make him gift the money to you and wait at least a week before you send it. He could refute the paypal claim after the item is sent and you'll be without a ps3 or money.

 

Post some of the emails here, i'll tell you instantly if it's a scam. Most likely is though.

Doesn't that just seem weird to you? Can't the guy just buy it there and be cheaper especially since it has to be shipped to him. On Craigslist they even tell you to only deal locally, SAYS THAT FOR A REASON! Don't do it...

I want to say there is something illegal about selling a computer to someone in another country. From what I remember in the documentation when I got mine. Not sure if the same applies to game systems. But outside of that I still wouldnt do it seem sketchy.
