No, he's right. Public opinion plays a big roll in that kind of stuff. Imagine if the police had actually enraged the public and they riot charged the cops. Image is everything when it's one side vs another

Unfortunately people are going to see the way the belive no matter the proof they are presented, just like even before seeing this 15 minute video I knoew there was more to the story. How many times in the 15 minute video were they warned to move before they would face consequences? How many times are you going to tell your kids something and them intentionally disobey you before taking action, whether it is time out/spanking/taking away their toys. That is where part of the problem stems from, no one thinks that people should be punished for their actions, starting in childhood.

You referring to me? Why I'm a hippie for believing people shouldnt be treated like pieces of shit?

I'm a petroleum engineer who works my frickin ass off.. been to school for a "real degree" well 2 of them.. got a degree in business too as well as engineering..then got a job. All the people at Occupy aren't just homeless bums camping out.. Its for all the time the people have been fucked over at the expense of greed. Check out the doco "Inside Job". Or countless other books and tv shows about inside the 2008 GFC. Its horse shit.
Freedoms are being taken away daily to "Protect us from terrorists". People are just getting fed up of the whole thing. They want politicians to come to work and say "what can I do today to make this world a great place to live and better for the people I represent" not just representing corporations.

So anyone who asks the question "Is there a better or more efficient way of doing this?" a hippy? Anyone who wants to question the government and their use of force is automatically branded a hippy?

if it wasn't for people trying to change the world we would still be living in the stone age and have olden day values.

But I can't complain I live in Canada where the jobs are plenty and the pay is good. Just irritates me whenever I see some students getting batton jabbed, a veteran getting flash banged in the head, some old granny getting mased especially in a 1st world country. I feel its a shame that this is what it has come to.

fun stuff coming soon! New battery, radiator and CV joints and axles. Added some Rancho RS5000 shocks.
they formed a circle around the police and it wouldnt be safe walking through them, think if you were in that situation, completly out numbered, and having no idea what they are going to do when they are sayin F*** the police, we will let you leave when you let them go....seriously? they were warned several times and disobeyed so they got sprayed.

as a child when i was disobediant and mom told me not to or stop what i was doing and i didnt listen, i got my a** wore out, they ignored the consiquences of their actions and paid for it. they werent peacfully protesting high tuition anymore, they were making threats towards police officers.

The only good thing to come out of the whole 'occupy' nonsense is a new porn that is due to hit the shelves, "Occupy my Throat". Seriously. Heard it on the news the other day.

Only ever got belted once, but for me during age 3-12ish it was sit on the couch for an hour (our version of corner) and not move, if I did besides having to go to the bathroom it would reset the hour. then I started being more rebelious so there started being fist fights

    BINGO

if the police hadn't warned them MULTIPLE times, then i would say the police would be partially at fault. They were warned that there were going to be consequences :)eek: i used that word) to their actions. They didn't change their actions so they got to suffer the consequences.

I agree with this totally. And the police should have the right to carry out their jobs. We give them more power for this reason, to protect us from riff raff.
But isn't this what protesting is about? Being able to protest for what you believe in at the expense of getting arrested or shot? These kids had a message and the response from whoever was..remove the protesters. Now the police come and remove them and the protesters cannot fight back???

How does that make sense? So we can only protest about what they will allow us to protest about, and also where and when we can protest? Sounds like a pretty bullshit unfair deal to me. How are people not outraged and want to take back the power? As long as the students were not interferring with people going about their business, sidewalks or interfering with everyone elses life.. i dont see why the police were ordered to move them

Aren't the police allowed to be one step/level above the opposition?would you have rather them be tazered or body slammed?would rubber bullets be better?how many times can you tell someone something before you go to the next step?everyone knows I'm not a fan of police but think they handled it well. Of course the news media would make it seem like the cops just walked up to innocent people having a picnic and peppers prayed them. Fuck public perception.what is the right way to handle a bunch of assholes who don't even know what the fuck they are protesting about ?

ok once again because the general public are uneducated assholes.....just because the "public" has a view or opinion on the said matter does not make them correct, right?

if the protestors decided to rush the police and crate a riot there would be a shit storm of unarmed civilians being pepper sprayed, tazered, and bean bagged.

once again it is the police are doing their job...does not matter if its the public believes they are right you have to listen to what police say. they didn't listen so they suffered the consequences (which they were given many warnings) what did you expect the police to do individually hold and comfort each protestor and say everything will be alright?? thats not gonna happen the police risk their lives every day they majority of the public understands that when they are arresting a drug dealer or murder but when its during a protest/riot the police are always wrong in the public eye why is that? please explain...

nobody is outside the law. not even hundreds of lazy college students.
Everybody has the right to protest, but when they were warned multiple times by the police and surrounded them saying "you cant leave" they went too far.

So far I've added an Advance folding bed cover and since removed it. Gave it to my son in Maine, he has an 05 2wd. GT perfect fit seat covers. Weathertech floor mats and window vent visors. Waag center brush/grill guard. Hose clamp tailgate mod. Turned off the seat belt chime. Added Ultra-Gauge. Trailer hitch. Softopper. Replaced sun visors with slide out style. Toyota bed extender. Had Firestone Destinations and now Michelin LTX AT2 in stock size. More mods to come; Fog lights, locking storage in bed, intermittent wipers. Now looking for Radio/HU upgrade. and maybe a lift way down the road.
Confused now... why didn't the police just shoot them in the head.
