I just found this bed/cargo rack on Craigslist and was thinking of getting it.

The thing is I don't know how it installs, could someone help me out here?

It came out of a 2008 so another question is, will it fit in my bed?

    Thanks

I'm not familiar with a "bed rack". The picture looks like a bed extender. Is that what you're talking about?

If so, and it's OEM design, you MAY be able to make it fit. When I bought my bed extender, I was surprised to find it's designed to fit a Tacoma or a Tundra. During assembly, you adjust the width for your specific application. Keep in mind installation requires a hardware kit (i.e., mounting brackets).

pretty sure it came from the factory with the extender and the guy is just getting rid of it. i'll ask more questions tomorrow
so it will fit? i just have to adjust the width of it and purchase the hardware kit?

Yes, the width is adjustable. The middle piece's pipes are a little smaller diameter and slides into the outer pieces' pipes.
The hardware bolts to where your rear hooks are inside the bed. Just take those screws out and mount the brackets on the same holes. The hooks can go back on over the brackets.

I use my bed extender all the time - very handy. Even when it is not folded out it creates a nice little box in the bed to keep things from sliding to the front.

    awesome! thanks for the info
it'll probably get most use when i head to the beach with the family and given i have the only truck, i will be hauling everyone's stuff down there, so the extender will be a perfect add on
plus, ill just throw my groceries back there so i dont have to jam up the cab anymore
