Anybody with Longer rear Leafs? (Bolt in w/longer shackle) Explorer's perhaps?

I wan't some junkyard longer rear leafs to get more travel out of my rear end. I have a set of chevy 63's that i was going to put in but my frame in the rear was hacked up by a previous owner and i'd have to do a lot of fab work to bring the shackle hangers back any further in the rear.

I have some 7" shackles that should work well with some longer leafs.

I need a junk yard leaf pack that only requires moving my front shackle box forward.
Has anybody tried expo leafs? Their spring under so i was thinking they might work well.

Any other ideas?

 

Pretty sure the Expos are a 63" leaf. How much more travel are you looking for?

I was running a Deaver AAL pack on my stock springs along with a trimmed AAL from somebody else and a longer shackle. Because the Overload leaf is pulled with the deaver 3 pack deal I got more flex and overall with the correct shock tuning my rear end was not that far off from the LT front. I ran it fairly hard at superstition last year and worked great. For a Mid Travel front this should work fine for you.

 

I looked at the deaver AAL pack but don't want to spend over 300 for just an AAL pack. Plus i only have about 750 into my truck including cost of truck so i'm trying to keep this cost relative.

The expos aren't 63's, i used an expo pack in my old bronco 2 i built for rock crawling and they bolted in with a longer shackle.
i want as much travel as i can get without moving my rear spring hanger (willing to move my front)

here are my spring lengths
Width = 2-3/8
# of Leaves = 3(2/1)
Measures (A/B) = 24-1/8 x 31-1/8
Pack Thickness = 1-1/2
Front Eye Bushing Included

so with a longer shackle a 97-2003 f150 main leaf should hopefully bolt in as its 58" long and 2.5" wide. I would just have to re-drill a hole for the center pin to keep my axle in the stock location.

Or i could move the front hanger forward ~ 4" and use a dodge 1500 pack that is 60" long.

I think i'll go the doge route.

Damn thats a killer deal. I haven't even considered DSM. My buddy is giving me his f-150 leaf packs this sunday and i'll be putting that main leaf and a couple of my leafs on along with my 7" downey shackle and some billy's. I'll report back here on how well they work. If they don't i'll hit up dsm. They feel pretty good on his exploder, but they're a little to soft for him so i'm hoping/thinking they will work well for me being a little longer and broken in already.

I think so, i emailed them to see if they'd make a Long Travel spring under ~60" 7-10 leaf pack.
We'll see...

 

i forgot where i saw a guy running stock leafs with an aal pack and tc shackles over the frame maybe try that?
