I still have to clean up all the staples and nails and remove the old hardwood in the kitchen so I can install the new laminate floor and tile. Also have a couple rooms to paint.
    Hoping to move in soon.

What??? There ain't an ounce of fat on you. :D

Why you removing a nice hardwood floor to put in a Laminate? Please share the master plan here. I can understand removing carpet but not a nice thick hardwood like that.

    Congrats on the home purchase!!!

Thanks man. I am super excited to get moved in. Really anxious to get my garage workshop set up. I plan to build a nice big work bench with a section that will roll out as a mobile work platform. A beer fridge will also fit nicely underneath.

Well 3 reasons why the hardwood gets ripped up and laminate down in place:
    1. The wife wants the whole bottom floor (kitchen, family room, dining room, living room, etc) to be a darker wood floor.
    2. Only the kitchen is hardwood now so it would cost a whole lot more to finish the rest of the bottom floor in the real hardwood and then sand down, stain and seal the existing stuff. Laminate wasn't too expensive and is easy to install (I hope).
    3. I have two boxers and they tear up the coating on the hardwood floor. The hardwood that is there is torn up already from the previous owerns dog. The laminate floor is durable and doesn't require the top coat every couple years.

Sorry this took so long to post but ive been super busy with work Ok so I talked to the fam. They said we are welcome to come up and explore but pretty much all the roads on the land are snowmobile only right now and they are not sure around the lake and other trails. I think we should wait till summer honestly cause I'd hate for everbody to track up there and then not have very much wheeling to do. I know several of you guys have snowmobiles though and I'll be tuning up ours soon so we should try to do a day trip on sleds up there soon. It sucks though cause I mentioned the mountains to my girl so I might have to go no matter what.

Big tires, big lift, Lots of stuff's.
Laminate is better with dogs for sure. My dog tore apart my hard wood floors in my last house in a matter of months i tore it up and put laminate down and it lasted till I left.
