Light reccomendations?

So in my westin bullbar i have 2 hella's. Long story short, i tried to park next to my boss's car today, because he typically wants me to park next to his car, so a random ass hole wont dent his door. I come into the spot at a angle, try to straighten my wheels and go too far fowards, bang his the concrete wall. My plastic cover on my fog lights in the bullbar wasnt even scratched, but the lens on the light is completly f'd up.

After that little of a bounce off a concrete wall does that much to a lens, im steering away from hella's. What brands have good driving lights (hid's or whatever) with a good cage around it?

 

It's a plastic lens, it'll probably sand out. If you want to try them, PIAA's have a glass lens but if you push them against a concrete wall I wouldn't swear they won't crack but they do come with a rock guard (just a plastic piece that protects the lens. It'd protect against the scuff against a concrete wall but wouldn't absorb impacts well). Usually the bar you mount the lights on is set forward so it hits first, not the lights. Just sayin...

 

Well my hella's had plastic covers that go out about 10 mm's from the bullbar. And it's not sandable, i mean the lens is totally trashed. What lights have good stone guards?

vision-x the entire housing is made out of one piece of billet aluminum and the lens is an extremely tough poly carbonate that can be replaced when ever you want in minutes.

they are awesome in the light dept. as well. low power consumption good looks and extremely tough and premium materials make for a pricey but, imo well worth it lighting upgrade.

for halogens light force those things are practically indestructible and extremely bright plus they have adjustable beam patterns.

 

Those Lightforces are pretty sweet! Damn it Brock, you gonna make me end up buying new lights!

 

lol be prepared for sticker shock. the light force lights are tarded expensive! vision-x is on the nasa shuttle and landers they also have been contracted by the military so they meet the military standards for durability so your going to pay for that kind of prestige and engineering. the high end polymers used in the lightforce lights and there imo superior optics make up the majority of there cost while the vision-x is constructed solely out of billet aluminum built in heat sinks super performing leds and low power draw.

if it where my money thats where i would be looking. the lightforce xenon lights carry an extremely high price tag but, are basically the baddest off road style lights you could spend your money on lol.

either is going to be a super pricey upgrade over your hellas however but, they will perform significantly betterin addition to being extremely tough.

i don't really know what you planning on doing to your lights but, if i where you i find a better place to mount them up take a few minutes and look around the truck and find a secure protected location to mount them up.

What style lightforce lights do you have? I am looking at getting a pair of Lightforce 170 Strikers for the Tacoma. I found a kit on sale that includes 2 lights, 2 filters and locks for the lights for $260. But the wiring harness is another $45, so it iwll be just over $300. Are the 170's a pretty good light?

Im getting LF 240 blitz for my bumper. But i loved my hellas, still gonna use mine..

 

Love my 170s....amazing lights and bullet proof...i have beatin the crap out of them, and they dont care one bit...brighter than heck too!
