I am a firm believer that 90% of the people out there cannot shoot to the level of 90% of the firearms available.

    Did I say that? :D

A decent shooter with iron sights on an AR can put 10 rounds in a couple inches group at 100 yds in most shooting positions. A one inch group isn't hard to do from a good position. Instead of mod days; maybe we should have a range day so some of y'all can get some good range instruction.

when it gets warmer i am all game for that!

wont hurt at all to get some decent instruction. everything i know has been self taught. sadly most of my shooting has been with my air gun(things a 1000fps beast). ive got it shooting quarter size grouping at 30 yrds.

i shot my rem 710 .270 the other day and put all the shots in about a 2-3" grouping(i know thats horrible, but that gun is a POS and so is the scope) this was after i got a bunch of practice in with the pellet gun. before my pellet gun practice i could only put the shots in about the size of a dinner plate...

only 100yrds. any decent rifle should be able to pull at most 1" grouping at 100 yrds

Tac Pro in Mingus has a 1000 yd range; but like most places you have to qual at a shorter distance before they let you shoot at that distance.

Robert - I haven't heard of the Parker Co Range. Any info on it?

It's the Parker county sportsmans club and it has yearly dues. It is near poolville and it has skeet shooting range, two pistol ranges, and a long range shooting range for 100, 200, and 250. Could have sworn it went out to at least 500, but the website only shows 250. Oh well it's been awhile.

No one is breathing down your neck here, your pretty free to do what you want. Just no rapid fire.

I thought TacPro was closer to Stephenville off 281. Mingus has nothing except a liquor store and a bar called BJ's. Stop in some time and check out the locked up bucks mount they have.

Yeah, I think they are a couple of miles south of Mingus on 281. I don't think anything is really "close" to anything out there, lol. It isn't a bad drive though.

I'm headed to the doctor today today. I think I may have gotten a concussion on saturday. Hit my head on a table. I'm still getting headaches every time I stand up.

Blake - to qual at that range you have to shoot and hit at 500 yds before they will let you shoot past that. They have scheduled qual days for it; but from what I have heard it isn't hard.

Keith - what were you doing under the table that you hit your head on it? Sersiously though; hope your head is ok.
