Yes. They're a pain in the ass. If I want to change over all of my connectors on my batteries I can just "snip snip solder solder" right? And use an adapter to charge?

Yes, yes, and no. Why not change your charger out also? I like to use small alligator clips on my chargers, so I can charge any connector/battery out there.

I'm shopping around for a good tool kit and the name that keeps popping up is EXI.

HobbyPartz.com sells several of their kits with good reviews, but all of the cases look like junk.

    Anybody ever used these?

I've got the Integy hex drivers, no case, just in my tool/tackle box. Maybe not even out there any more, IDK, I've had them for several years.

i have used these connectors for years (Deans Micro 4R)

    [IMG][IMG]

good connections, easy to get apart because they have an edge for grip.
more difficult to solder (but, i am ok with soldering)

also, prob half the price of "ultras"

you can see it here (side view)

So after much research and suggestion from you guys I think I decided I want to get a traxxas summit 1/10. I found this deal on Craigslist and it's local to me. My questions are:

    1. Is this a good deal in its condition, they retail new for about $600.
    2. Since its used what should I look for or watch out for?
    3. Do you guys recommend me not buying used since I'm new to R/C?

Any other advice would be appreciated!

I don't know much about the Summits, but I've been a Traxxas guy up until I got my SCX10 and they are a great company.

One thing to point out is that an SCX10, even after batteries and charger is just as expensive as this is. My point is that you can get a new, more customizable (from what I've seen) R/C for about the same price.

    Just my $.02,

    Fink

sounds like the dude is experienced with R/Cs, and seems well cared for. Ask to try it out and drive the piss out of it. Test the locking diffs, low and hi range, and all of that good stuff. Seems like a good deal. :notsure:

Got my new wheels/tires today. Not sure if I like the tires or not, they're kinda big.

Do you have any videos of that thing in action?

I may have to get one of those as my second vehicle.

the backslash is cool... i seen one in action in person and it's madness...

i saw one last year at a local hobby shop where the guy put a rally car body on his and in that scale, it was a beast... it handled like nobody's business too...

makes them look like 35s on a real truck... i have a set of 2.2 moab tires in my tool box that i was thinking of putting on revolver rims and throwing on my slash... with the long travel front end though, i don't think the suspension will cycle properly due to the size of the tires...
