^-- That is why you turn the oven OFF after it gets to temp! Otherwise the element turns back on and can create a VERY hot spot heat and melt the lens or catch the cardboard on fire.

Are most of y'all reusing the glue that's on the housings after you pull them apart? Or do you pull all of it out and off the lens then put butyl in the channel to reseal it with, havent heard of many people having problems with leaks, just trying to figure out the best way to seal and not pro e to leak

I was going to put ae led strips in mine that that but didn't.

My lights don't "leak" but I noticed the other night after I drove for about an hour it was real cold and raining some that when I got home the bottom inner corners were fogged up some? After 20 min it was gone and no residue in the housing? Where do most of them "leak"? I did a retro and pushed butyl in the channel for the lens

add a bead of GE silicone to where the lens meet the gray housing.. make sure to use your finger or something to push the silicone into the crevices.

Mine came out great. Then a day after washing I noticed condensation in my passenger HL. Must have skipped a spot in the bead when I put em back together.

Easy fix: drilled 2 inconspcuous holes in the backside of the lense, in the oven at 170* for an hour to evaporate out any water. Once dry I just made a fine continous bead between mating surfaces, plugged the drilled-holes, back in action. Passed the garden hose test anyway.

If the headlights leak with retros will it be any harder to fix than it would be if they were just the BHLM? Water getting in retro parts, etc?

No difference really...the only thing would be making sure you get all the moisture off the lens (both sides). Retro's are the best mod I've done to the truck, followed close by the bed lights.
