Awesome gun. Super Smooth to shoot. I had a Ruger 45 a while back and it kicked like a mule. The Springfield is smooth and lays right back down on the target after firing. Great choice.

I have a XD45 compact, great gun with no issues so far. My dad has the tactical and my friend has it in the service model. No complaints from anyone I know that has them. Carries pretty well and I have found no feeding issues.

I've got an XDM 9 and love it. Didn't go with a 45 primarily cause of ammo $$$. My next handgun will be another XD or XDM.

I had an XD .45 4" barrel and absolutely loved it. I put well over 1,000 rounds through it and never had a single failure to fee, failure to fire, or failure to eject. Overall it is a great little sidearm. I recently sold mine to my father because I just wasn't shooting it enough and he will.

Foglights are for fog, not oncoming traffic!
You'll find a lot of Glock fans on here...they're fine for what they are.
If I was shopping in that market, I'd buy the XD or the FNP9 over the Glock.
I believe in safety features that I can manipulate and never got comfortable the the G17 I owned.
I much prefer the grip angle of the XD and the grip safety...there is also a model withthe thumb safety.
The more I see of the FNP, the more I like.
    SA/DA is a great feature.

True but the FNP had some wearing issues on the slide from what i heard? Also, being left handed it has to be ambidextrous

I've also noticed that those who like Glocks grips do not like Springfields grip and vise versa

Thats pretty much true in my case

I used to have an XD40 4" and had trouble shooting it...had to work way too hard to put rounds on paper

My glocks on the other hand are no issue for me

Have 2 both compacts. I think it's best of both worlds I can carry in compact mode and at the range in fullsize mode. Compact is 10 rounds and full size is 13. Both guns have fired over 1500 rounds and nver failed. Can't remember the last time I cleaned my FDE one. Can't go wrong with any of the XD's. I have an XDm in .40 but, I haven't been to the range since I bought it so I can't comment on it's shooting ability but the feel is great. :D

Thinking man...... If you are set on an FN pistol DO NOT buy an FNP first they are only produced and sold in California. The new FN pistol is the FNX. The down side is the safety decock lever is now plastic and I've seen it come off on all the pistols including the 1100.00 FNP tactical .45. If you have the money to blow you will not find a better feeling or fitting pistol than the H&K P30. Its a tone of money but shoots very well and can be customized to fit you hand with removable side plates and back straps. i have one of these as well in .40

I liked my XD45 but I had trouble feeding it Winchester white ammo. Cycled just fine with more expensive stuff though. I didn't like the fact that the sights were not adjustable and it was too bulky for a good carry gun. I'd still have it but the ex got it in the divorce. :(

It is a TLR-2 laser light combo. The light is awesome, I sent the first one back in because the laser would not stay zeroed. It does now.

Can't speak for the XD .45, but I used to carry the XD 9 with a strobe and laser at work:drool: Made my Glock look like a caveman club.

I just bought the .40 XDm and love it. I decided to stray away from Glock, I think the XDm feels better in your hand, shoots better, and you get more for your money. Springfield FTW
