Toyota has a bug deflector pictured on a 2012 Taco on their accessory web page. I have a 2012 and like the looks of it. I called the local dealer and they do not have any deflectors for 2012 in yet, did not have any idea when. Does anyone have the deflector for the new Tacos, or know if/when they will be available?

    Thanks in advance

Same result here. I asked at my local dealer and they did not know when they are available. I also asked about the all weather mats which were also unavailable.

Went to a local truck accessories shop looking for an aftermarket hood deflector and window deflectors. He said he had just spoken to Autoventshade (AVS) and they won't have one until early 2012. He hadn't heard from EGR or the other brands they sell...so looks like us 2012 owners will have to wait a bit. He also mentioned that any front end accessories 2011 and earlier (bull bar, guards, etc) won't ft the 2012 with the new shape of the front end and the skid plate that I guess is standard now?

The all weather mats are coming already billed to the trucks, and it is a port-installed option. So they are out there. But I havent heard ANYTHING about the bug deflector. I imagine they will start rolling out soon... just keep your ear to the ground at your local dealerships.

I know it's all personal opinion, but bug shields suck.

Prolly protect a small portion of your hood edge, I just think they look goofy.

I work at a dealer. just installed a 2012 deflector the other day. These new deflectors mount differently than the previous years so make sure they print you the instructions. Part number is: PU500-35012 if I am not mistaken.

    good luck!

Please let me know if the part# works for you? I've also been looking also for a 2012 shield.

All weather mats are in stock. My Sport TRD was delivered with them. Nice mats, but for $100 am sure you could find other options in a couple of months for less money.

Looks like AVS is now starting to get some hood deflectors out for the 2012. Search AVS 25310. I think I'm gonna wait for EGR to put something out since I've got EGR window deflectors. If anyone gets the AVS, let me know what you think about it.

Does it still mount with clips like I've heard alot of people complain about it the other years?

    Guys:

Looks like Toyota has the new 2012 hood protectors in stock. Here's the correct part number: PT427-35120.

The dealer said he could have it in a day. I'm wondering why the list price is near $160.00!

    Best regards,

    Rossi

I just bought the 2012 Hood protector and I don't know if I want to keep it. $120 from Amazon, it is they Toyota branded part but it mount to the outside of the hood with brackets. It looks nice head on but hangs off the hood some, I will get some pictures and post as soon as I can.

Does anyone have an AVS or other brand so we can compare?

    Thanks
    Doug
