Ok we all know that we take pride in our trucks and we don't like to have just anybody ride in them... so here's a situation I know we all been through. Someone's trynna bum a ride off you. Let's all hear your best excuses for not giving someone a ride. (plus it's fun making up things and just not telling them you don't wanna give them a ride)

Tell them to give you gas money. When they say no then say no ride. No point in lying up excuses.

if its a friend i could careless if they need a ride they need a ride i would expect the same from them. i also don't see a reason in asking for gas money they will give me 5 bucks and ill end up spending it on something stupid so id rather them keep it haha.

but its some stranger i have to think about it, not gonna lie i have given some pretty sketchy people rides before but they had to go kinda far and the weather was really shitty. like the other day we had insane winds here 50-80 mph and there was someone in a wheelchair on the sidewalk and they were barely moving and i was leaving a coffee ship so i walked over and offered a ride. they said no but like i said its the thought that counts and id expect other people at least be nice enough to offer.

This one cute 20's ish girl I'd never seen before asked me for a ride once, when I was walking in to work. Unfortunately, I had to go to work.

She even offered to pay for fuel. :(

Actually this is the reason why I got an access cab. Was annoyed at being the free cab in high school so I wanted to get something with the least space possible for bums. Wouldn't be bad if they offered to help pay for gas, or at least seemed thankful, but they think that they're entitled to a ride. :bananadead:

lol, I thought that the cramped space in the back of the access cab would deter these people, but they still insist that they don't mind. My excuse is my sub on the rear driver's side seat and my tools and gear on the passenger side rear seat. The front passenger seat is reserved for the girl so it's either get in the bed of the truck or no ride at all...and Hilo is almost always rainy so :D

People I don't know? Not a chance in hell. If you're broke down on the side of the road, I will call the highway patrol to go check on you, but the world is too messed up to let strangers in my truck.

Friends? I don't have a lot of friends. The ones I do have are true friends, like family to me. If they need help and I can help them in any way, no problem, I'm there.

Friends of friends? As long as it doesn't put me too far out of my way and our mutual friend is with us.

Co workers isn't an issue-company truck complete with gas card.

As far as excuses....when I need one I usually point to the back seat of my access cab and say "you can ride bitch if you like!"

I had a REGULAR cab Toyota in high school. That never stopped people from asking. Usually had three of us in there along with the 5speed and transfercase levers on the way home from practice.
