    So...

Here I am, living in a great place to have a tacoma and I have a pontiac grand am for the last 8 years

Anyways, I've decided it's finally time to buy a truck and I'm pretty certain as to what I want.

I'd like a NEW Tacoma 4x4, 4 cylinder, 5 speed, regular bed, access cab is preferable to double cab and regular cab is NOT an option. From what I've seen this used to be a fairly normal configuration. However, I'm finding (on Toyota's website) that I am unable to buy a 4cyl 4x4 manual with access cab.

I don't need or want a v6. I want a manual transmission (unless I'm wrong here and somehow the automatic is better?)

    Has this been discontinued?

    THANK YOU

guess title should read 2011 or 2012 ;)

guess i'll look for the '11s with what I want! I have the feeling all that's left is the lame white or silver which everyone seems to have around here

The configuration you want is not available in your region. Try to build one with a 02113 zip code where i live. I can build it so it's a regional thing then. Some configurations (ie Prerunners/ certain trd options) aren't available in certain areas.

I can only build a regular cab in a random colorado zip code with 4x4 5 spd. You/They need to locate one out of state it seems. My thought is that heavier AC + 4 cyl + mountians and altitude = joke.

Well the zip code change worked just fine with the options I wanted. I think that it's NOT a joke and I shouldn't be suckered into buying a V6.

It's not so much that you're getting suckered, as it's probably just not a popular combo in your region. Toyota doesn't offer it if it won't sell well. Having said that, my access cab 4 banger did just fine in the Smokies, not sure how it would do at higher elevations.

    Stick to your preferences, I have a 2010 MGM, SR5, 4cyl, 4x4, 5-sp
It is the perfect vehicle for me. Took a while to get one exactly like I wanted it.
