Thread-jacking can so easily lead others on a wild goose chase, especially when they don't know a lot about a particular issue and are looking for direction. When someone is expecting info about a specific issue, supplying info and links about another marginally-related issue just causes confusion, not clarity. Please, if you must give $0.02 all the time, join a chat room.

Wellllllllll crap. Replaced the door seal and it did nothing. Still lots of noise right in my ear at speed.

I did get the rear driver's side external window seal replaced and it's nice and tight now - no more worries there. Now I just need to figure out how to fix that wind noise up front.

Did the dealer recognize that there is still something wrong?

I had an 2009 TRD Sport AC and had the same wind noise on the passenger side around the access door. Took it to the dealer and they looked at me like (are you kidding me they all make noise) I just bought a 2012 it has 500 miles on it and it is starting to make the same noise from the passenger side door. Owning the 2009 and then a 2012, they have cheapened them up. When I close the access door/doors something rattles on both doors like a loose spring or something. The liner under the hood of the truck no longer has the liner between the engine and the underside of the hood. (Prob to lighten them up for better MPG but you now get more road noise.

Sounds like you need a replacement window seal for the front since the door seal replacement didn't work and the window seal replacement did work for the back. Did the dealer mention that at all?

The seal in back wasn't making noise, it was just coming off at the top. I got that fixed simply to eliminate the possibility of leakage/pooling/rust.

I had wind noise at my left ear. Turns out it was the access cab's rear window. I filled it up with silicone caulk, and the noise was gone.

I haven't brought it up to, or back to, the dealer yet. The were really nice about it, but they basically just replaced the parts I mentioned and I don't think they really drove it or tested the fix. The door seal was coming off at the top, so that was the obvious culprit. I have a nice new door seal but I still have the wind noise at speed. Don't really know where to go from here.

So I got my new parts in, they replaced both seals in the truck.. I still have the noise.. I'm going to give it a month to see if anything needs to settle in. If it doesn't fix itself, then back to the dealer I go.

For clarity, when you say "they replaced both seals" do you mean the door seal and the window seal?

Yes that is correct that they replaced the door and window seal. On my order it only said window, but that was due to the fact that they already had the door seal in stock. It is no better then when I took it in.

My next step is to pull the B pillar skin (interior) plus any other trim panels I can easily remove and check for gaps. I might even add some dynamat to see if that blocks it.

Aight crew, I'm happy to announce that I fixed my wind noise issue, at least for now. Here's the deal:

I was driving around at 50 mph pushing on stuff around the window to get the noise to stop when I pressed on the rubber gasket around the uppermost/rearmost corner of the driver's window. That stopped the noise! So I knew it was something to do with the window against the gasket.

I went back home and started looking at the gasket itself. Turns out that it's a single piece. If you cut a crosssection you'd see a "W". You can actually just pull it down out of the door track if the window is rolled down, it's not sealed or anything. Its pretty obvious how air can get in, up and around the gasket. I took some double-stick tape and sealed the inner edge of the gasket against the door. I actually only had to use about an inch of double-stick tape, and used it on the upper left corner of the gasket. Rushing wind noise is completely gone.

So, you might check your window gasket and apply some double-stick tape if that's the source of your noise. I know some folks have mentioned it lower on the window, or even on the rear window. This makes complete sense, because the gasket can basically warp anywhere along the window and let air in, and I assume the rear window is set up the same way.

    Hope it helps!

Polymerhead: I see it's been about a month since you did this. Is it holding up well? I'm not going to try anything until Spring, so waiting to see how your fix is in the long run. Thx.

It's held up great - about a month so far maybe? 3M double-sided tape is the same stuff that holds your decals on your truck, so you know it's designed to last. If I ever develop the noise in other parts of this seal or other doors, I'll use the same method. It wasn't cold in early December - in the 50's or so. It was 11 degrees this morning and still no noise. We'll see if the tape holds up in teh summer heat, but I mean your decals don't fall off when it's hot so I assume the tape will hold up. If I have to reapply on an annual basis or whatever, no big deal. That noise was driving me freaking insane, and now it's gone. I'll take it.

I'm having the same wind noise problem coming from the front passenger window. I'm thinking about some vent visors.

Thanks Polymerhead, would you mind taking a snapshot of what you're referring to? I guess I'm not envisioning what your saying.

I can talk you through it. Open your front door and look at the window from the inside. See the rubber gasket that surrounds the window? Notice how you can pull the edge/lip of the gasket away from the door? Wind was getting in between the gasket and the door. So I put about a 1" x 1/4" piece of double-stick tape behind the gasket, taping it to the door. I put the tape at the corner of the gasket where the long top edge of the window meets the vertical straight edge of the window. Noise is gone. You may have to tape somewhere else, depending on where the gasket is letting the air in.
