Just know that when you do split your board with the voile kit that it wont have and inside edge, like a factory split will. This can be a REAL pain in the ass when skinning up icy switchbacked skin tracks....i think a pair of Mr chomps splitboard crampons would really help out though.

BTW, I ride a Prior AMF 161 split, spark r&d fuses, black diamond 3-way poles, voile tractor skins. This setup is great in the tetons, rode some great lines in Grand teton national park yesterday, Mt Albright. I do a lot of splitting.

That will be such a nice split. I'm dying to cut a board in half.. Not practical in jersey though.. :pout:

Anybody tried the battalion boards yet? I've seen the vids posted on the board shop sites but haven't ridden one yet. Currently have the burton deuce in green and looking to buy a new board.

Dude hows the prior ride??? I am thinking of getting the Prior ATV. though the longest they have is 171 which for me seems short for an alpine board. My all-mountain stick is a 163.

edit: probably go for the 4wd

Yeah, the chomps would really help u without an inside edge, they even help me in the springtime morning ice. Nothing worse than slipping around on icy skin tracks when your trying to get up something huge. the BD poles I picked up for $50 on sale, really recommend them.

Yes, splitting in the tetons is epic, thats why Ive been coming here for 7 winters, not working, and blowing all my saved summer cash to ride everyday. Powder is a drug for me.

Im 5'9 and ride last years AMF 161. Its rockered tip and tail, and that really helps when busting trail in +1foot of fresh powder. A rockered 161 rides like a 165 regular IMO. I take very narrow couloirs, and tight trees to get out of areas and bigger boards suck when you gotta make tight turns. The AMF Prior is sick in just about any type of terrain.

chair lift evac practice was fun. We shoot up a pull line attach ropes and pull over cable ,then we attach a seat and harness and pull it up to chair person gets secured and down they go. Scary part is getting off the chairlift, it feels like your gonna fall to the ground but its a nice easy fun ride down.
