Any fellow survivalists utilize their truck?

lapolicegear keeps sending me emails now that i've bought a couple things from them. they're trying to make me spend all my money

 

i keep rope in my truck. mine is more like 15' though. i keep 50' or more of 550 chord.

heck yea man, cant beat it for that price. I dont have any rope but I do have a bunch of 550 cord in the bag and a 30' recovery strap behind the seat

 

i literally have been looking at bags and gear options all day haha kinda stuck on a maxpedition falcon-II cause i really like the layout of the bag and everyone who has bought one seems to love it but it is a little expensive

 

The other thing I threw in truck the other day was an ammo can with 5.56, 9mm and .40S&W along with two mags for each..that way, no matter what gun/guns I have with me, I've got extra rounds..

yeah, I'm in the same boat, I've spend so much money there recently it's unreal, I don't even want to add it up.

550 works great for some things but not everything..Definitely have the recovery strap under the rear seats also..

I was torn between this and OD green, maybe I'll have both someday lol.

I've used 550 chord for everything from fixing a cb antenna to fixing a broken exhaust. Lol

 

I always carry my shotty with an abundance of lead and steel shot. I also carry my bow with a dozen arrows. A bottle of super glue is a good addition because it can fix somethings that 550 can't, and it also serves extremely well in lieu of stitches.(It is sterile if you use a new,unopened bottle.) Also some quick clot bandages(I go on multiple day hunting trips and dont always have good cell reception), and a S.P.O.T. GPS unit. It will send a 911 signal where cells cant. It has saved me a couple times when I was out on the 4 wheeler a few days from my truck. It sends the signal to my wifes cell phone and e-mail, from there she can either call 911 or send my buddies with supplies.

Maxpedition makes some great stuff. Same with Camelbak and Blackhawk. If you want the best, I'd go with Tactical Tailor. Very expensive but well worth it.

Cheap bags are made with cheap materials and will come apart when packed to capacity during extended field use. I've never had a failure from Maxpedition, Camelbak or Blackhawk...although the Blackhawks do tend to unravel a little. Tactical Tailor is in a league of their own. Hands down the best packs.

I have a Camelbak that was given for us for testing during a tour. It's awesome. Held 50 lbs easily and survived multiple drags, drops and throws. For my work bag which contains various medical gear, water/food, spare magazines, etc. I use a Maxpedition Last Resort.

Check Ebay for used, picked up my Maxpedition for $50.

Point is, save up and buy something nice once. Cheap bags will crap out on you later on. Buying nice bags used on Ebay is another option.

funny but true. if your bag fails in the field, you're going to be crying alot more than once.

 

I was thinking about that too and I really dont want my bag to break and with my luck it will happen when I am in the middle of no where. So now I am definitely gonna get that pack. And about the GA logo, I currently live in NC cause that's where I go to college but my family still lives in GA

I'm a little late on subbing to this thread, but I started my survival bag and accessories about 5 months ago. It has some handy stuff as of now, but I'm continually adding to it. Basic hiking backpack with rope, panchos, flashlights, batteries, water, tp, shovel, knives, skining knife, tarps, fishing line, hooks, bait, bandages, binocs, rangefinder, flares, glowsticks, pen, paper, gorilla tape, hatchet, and some other stuff. have It all behind my rear driver side seat. Also have extra floor mats (great for traction) recovery gear under the rear seats, and planning on adding my cb, and two way radios to the mix. Looking for some good two ways, and a portable spotlight. Any suggestions? I'll post pics later today or this weekend.

 

Anyone need some USGI water jugs? I purchased one from Amazon. Ended up being $36 Shipped for a brand new water jug. Cheaper than the local Surplus store wanted for a USED one. I plan to get one more.

I bought two seven gallon water jugs from wal mart for like 7 bucks each, they stay in the garage for the most part though.
